I understand the need to raise awareness for Cancer, but I don't see how taking a Selfie without make-up on helps.
If people want to help then they should donate, it's not hard to text the Cancer awareness line [in the UK anyway] and donate some money that way.

People are saying 'It's all for a good cause and to raise awareness' but I could raise awareness of a child being attacked, if nobody acts on that awareness then the child is still going to die.
I've seen 1 person out of the 20-odd which have popped up on my feed actually put the cancer awareness number and a picture of how much they've donated.

I don't have a problem with people posting no make-up selfies for cancer awareness, but at least act on it.
If not, it's pointless.

I agree with this pretty much 100%

I agree that they should do more than just take a selfie to raise awareness, but it is a good start. And not everyone has money lying around to donate, you know?

Raising AWARENESS with all the people complaining about it clearly it has made people more aware

Many of the girls who did it on mine gave 50p for every like they got, not much if you think about it but they did their part

I kinda think the people complaining about it are rather shallow, atleast they are trying to do something

I am completely FOR raising awareness for cancer, and perhaps these selfies will help.

Many others have said it and my Facebook wall has been full of these girls begging for likes for the past couple of days. Not one of them have provided a link or said what they're going to do to help cancer research.

Posting these pictures and getting feedback is only doing one thing, from what I've seen so far ... boosting egos. There was a perfect video on Facebook last night with a guy ranting about it and he sums it up so well (I would link it, but I'm in school). The egos are boosted and girls think they are some sort of hero for taking a selfie without makeup... people already do this for attention, for example:"Agh, no make up :C " <- but still decide to upload the photo to the internet. It's pathetic.

This is a good example of what girls should be doing:

As you have clearly mentioned, posting up for likes is inappropriate when such a horrible topic is in nature, the helping of raising money for cancer is appropriate, but just looking for feedback and looks from friends, I know that it is going to increase awareness but the pictures of no make up plus a sign saying they have donated money with a print screen that they have donated is highly worth it.

You realise the no make up cancer awareness trend has raised over 1 million pounds in less than 24 hours?

It's not like every girl is just taking a selflie without make up, most of them are texting BEAT to 70007...

If you do not believe me google is there.

Yes, I do realize it.
I didn't when I made this post, because it was impossible for me, or anyone else, to know.

That is true, and fair enough, wouldn't even care, just thought you were being unjust for people doing it, but at least you know people are actually helping.

There is also another Cancer Awareness 'trend' called the 'C*ck in a sock'.

Basically, males have to take selfies completely naked with a sock over there pen*s. I don't see how it contributes at all?
