PJDUNN wrote Yeah I completely agree with you I like him but he is overrated. I prefer old school rappers like Biggie and Tupac, Eazy-E etc

They are old news to be honest. Rap has changed since they were around and its not the same. Now days Eminem is probably the best. He doesn't release perfect music anymore because he does it for fun now. He has proved his point and you guys act like he hasn't. Eminem is not overrated. He is still one of the best lyricist and has one of the best flows. But due to him already proving his point of course his work isn't going to be how it was.

Yeah, he is a bit overhyped; especially his newer stuff...but he still is somewhat of a pioneer in new age flow and that's why he gets recognition. More talented new age rappers like ScHoolboy Q, The Underachievers, QuESt, Logic, and a lot of OF members have adopted this style and have made it there own. That's why Eminem is still so popular, he's an old school rapper; who rapped like a new school rapper before the big early 2000's transition.

I agree that he is "overrated" but he is a great rapper to me.

I personally think that eminem is defiantly not over rated. His music is very high quality and some of his songs you can relate to.

I don't think he is overrated he is defiantly one of the greatest but in music I don't think there can be a greatest of all time different artists bring different things to the table to make them one of the greatest.

Cincinnati wrote Would you rather listen to someone who writes their music like Eminem, or someone who doesn't write their music and says stuff that doesn't matter since, like Lil Wayne?

As a matter of fact, I don't listen to either and I'm completely satisfied with my music. By the way you're putting it, no one makes their own music then? Eminem is the only one?

All of the arguments against me are "Eminem is the greatest lyricist ever" or "Eminem raps about real stuff and not junk" or "Eminem is the greatest ever".

I've provided solid proof to my argument and that's what you can give me?

By that logic I guess you can say any rapper that is a great lyricist and raps about real stuff is the best ever. In fact, my favorite rapper "Ab Soul" falls under this criteria. I even consider him the best lyricist spitting today, yet he isn't considered the greatest of all time.

Is it because Em is white? What is it with you people that attracts you to Eminem? Most of you Eminem "Fans" haven't even heard all of his projects, yet you claim he's the greatest.

What I have bolded is what I'm going to talk about.

The issue of the matter is, everyone has their own opinion on who they like. You have your own opinion on things, as other people have opinions on theirs. You say you like Ab-Soul; great, but that is your opinion. For me, I don't like Ab-Soul at all, but what can you do about it? Nothing. Just like you can't change someone's opinion on Eminem. You can provide all the proof you want about how YOU think Eminem isn't the best, but in the long run, people are going to think whatever they want about him.

Eminem has a past and a life story that a lot of people are intrigued by and him being so famous, draws people to like him because they know where he has come from. Where as, most of the hiphop community has the same story on where they come from; "I came up from the hood where nobody makes it," yet about 100 rappers before you have made it.

I don't know, it's really just the mainstream community that thinks because they know Eminem's life story and has been in the "game" forever, that he is the best.
