Yeah, this is good. Processor is perfect, its an I5 quad which is excly what I want. RAM is spot on, but I don't think ill need a CPU cooler, at least, not untill I overclock. Would it be okay to have a Graphics card with only 1gb of RAM? I won't be having muliple screens or rendering, just pure one screen gaming. I know only 1gb of a GPUs RAM can be used for gaming, when doing anything else is the only time it can use more than 1gb, so I think I would have a 1gb card. I have a copy of Win 7 Ultimate, as I do not like Win 8 and I can't run Fallout 3 with anyway. What is a good Wattage for power supply? Not to knowledgeable about them.....Anyway thanks for that link, a very good setup to base off of
That build ain't the best it could be.
He included a CPU cooler and a k series i5 but no z87 motherboard, so no overclocking abilities.
If you are going to be using texture mods/general mods for Skyrim then that requires a decent amount of VRAM for a frame buffer.
A 550w PSU will be fine for this build. You could possible even run that on a good quality 450w unit.
What amount of VRAM would be a good amount? I would guess 2. My 1gb GTS 250 could play F3,NV, and Skyrim with a good amount of mods with no stutter in a old HP A6700y system. I haven't updated my Home PC as you can tell.

Tis nice. 3gb seems to be a good number for having mods. I think my grapjics and processor are what I'm spending the most on
While his build is good, for that budget you'd want a better case. You'd also want a better cooler on the 780.
You also don't need thermal paste since the CPU fan in the box already has it pre-applied.

Yeah, I was wondering if that would sjow up. I would like one, but I could live without it.

This is a great setup, but Mobo doesn't havebt HDMI and the processor can't be overclocked. I would like to OC, but it may be for a later time. I really would like a HDMI capable Mobo though, is there an equivalent of this with HDMI

Why do you need HDMI on a motherboard?? Lol. You'll be using the inputs on the GPU, if you're getting one...

Oh yeah. Sorry bout that. Yeah, ill be gwtting a GPU. Thanks for all the info guys. I have learned some stuff through this thread and reading. Now I know I need a good amount of VRAM on my GPU in order to support my wants. Thanks.
