Which set of fans are better? Football(Soccer for Americans) or American Football. Here is some videos of both below to help you judge.

Football

Napoli fans. These guys are the only people mental enough to sing along to the Champions League theme.

Home or away these guys are loud. They make Bayern fans look like small screaming children.

This isn't even the Boca fans on their loudest day and proudest days. The famed Boca vs River Plate match is said to host one of the best atmospheres around.

Where I usually reside on match days, Celtic Park is known to have Champions League nights to die for. Especially when you're beating Barcelona as shown above.

Rather loud don't you think?

A wee compilation of Football's biggest nutters... well almost, it seems somebody forgot that Crystal Palace are just a bit dull.

My own national team ready for the second half against the Italians. The highlight moments are:

3:41to 5:00. Loch Lomond being sung with pride from the Scots
7:20 to 9:00. It begins with good old Braveheart and ends with the Scots going wild.

American Football

The title says that it is the loudest. Maybe they are the loudest in American Football but certainly not when you compare them to some of the football fans from above.

Yes they have a band playing but does that really match up to 60,000 Celtic fans sing You'll Never Walk Alone and then producing a brilliant card display?

Number 1 and 2 on this list has something going. All they need to day is be able to maintain that level of support throughout the game.

I'm starting to warm to these wolverine fellows. Though like I said above, they need to maintain this level of singing and support throughout the game
.

Now doing a wee bit of research I learned that that one of the American Football teams have the record for the highest number of decibels reached during a game. The thing is that the fans like to warp this stat to take away the fact that it isn't the highest average level of noise throughout the match itself. It's alright to scream and shout for 10 minutes but, in my opinion, you need to keep going. Another thing is that American Football stadiums are all quite large (Most being well over 60000) where the likes of Besiktas only have 35000 fans yet still match the noise. Now I should point out that not all football teams have amazing fans. The English Premier League is a prime example (especially Man U. Why can't they make noise?)

My personal verdict is that the best fans go to Football(soccer for the Americans). It just seems that the passion you get from football fans is unmatched. I feel that American Football needs the show put on for them, where football's show is in the stands with the heart that fans put into supporting. So overall, I think that the American Football teams could try to match the passion of Football fans but would ultimately get blasted by a chorus of 'what a shitey home support' from football fans.

I would like to see your opinions on the best set of fans and perhaps even post your own videos of brilliant supporters

American Football doesn't reach extreme crowd noise in many games because of their stadium design. Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs are the two loudest stadiums because they have a stadium design that can keep the noise in.

Crowd noise is a college thing for American Football also. If you look at Michigan Wolverines, Texas A&M Aggies, and Penn State Nittany Lions, they generate much more consistent noise because colleges have student sections so all the college students attend and make noise. NFL is a mature crowd since more adults go to the games so they aren't going to be as energized.

Besiktas have only a 35000 capacity, no roof, a very open stadium and a mixed age range. You heard the noise from their fans. Football just simply has the better fans.

Football fans are much louder than American football fans, that's for sure. If we were picking which sport is better to watch, American football would win. No disrespect to football fans, but I just don't find kicking a ball around fun to watch.

Football is the most watched and most practiced sport around the world. Every year the UEFA Champions League attracts more viewers.

Im from the UK But I Prefer American Football, more entertaining to watch in my opinion. Sound doesn't exactly matter when playing, it only really increases the entertainment value for fans.

American Football-NFL is a lot better its more entertaining then just kicking a ball around. Theres a lot more than that in the NFL, I dont see how noise making is even in this it should be purely about the sport. Oh well

Football is also a much cheaper sport to play so it's easier to play worldwide. All you need is a ball and two nets to play. American football needs a funky ball to use to play, yardage actually has to be somewhat accurate, goal posts, etc.

If American football was affordable for developing countries, it would probably get more attention worldwide.
