Hello TTG.

I've had this problem for a while now where my parents discovered torrenting, since that day i have dealt with nothing but extreme lag making my time on the internet or Xbox live extremely frustrating.

I have looked around the internet on how to boot someone off of a Wifi, and i don't have access to the admin user and password for the router so am unable to do this. Another thing i came across was shutting down someones computer through command prompt but when i used the "Net View" command on my laptop or my parents one (the one they use to download) i cannot locate their computer, as the laptop they use doesn't recognise it as a command.

If anyone can please help me with suggestions on how to boot them off of the wifi or shutdown their computer through the network so they stop lagging everything out it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

~Sean.

I would just uninstall the torrent and block all torrenting sites on computer if you don't know how to do that...

Because their computer is password protected and i have no idea of the password, its usually very difficult for me to start snooping on their laptop. :/

You can shutdown a computer remotely using command line, however you'd need access to their computer to activate the remote registry and open a firewall port for Windows Management Instrumentation.

Put a pin in the master reset button on the router, get the admin password off the back, then block that computer and change the admin to what you want

I'll have a closer look at the router tomorrow when the parents aren't home and i'll give this a try, i'm unsure if my router has that information on the back, (BT Home Hub) but i'll give that a go.

Anyone else still got suggestions in the mean time?

Whatever happens they'll be pissed as they probably pay the bill and will notice, probably better to ask they do it at a time when you arent playing and play like overnight or something.

They tell me it doesn't affect the internet, (They know NOTHING about it) and don't stop, they've crossed the line considering i pay half the bills in the house so am entitled to the usage, so to be honest they will just have to deal with it.
When it gets to the stage where the 3G on your phone is 10x the speed of your wifi, its been taken to far.

Scare them by telling them about what will happen if they get caught and make it seem like people get caught all the time, my mum is too scared to even use a computer now haha.
