Taking away guns would basically just take away the guns that people use for self defense against the criminals who illegaly obtain guns in the first place. I also hunt 9 months out of the year and it takes away the 2nd amendment

I support banning assault weapons. No reason should anybody have a gun at high calibers.

I hate guns with a passion. I don't believe in the idea that you need them for protection, there are other measures you can use instead of a gun.

You can not have a mental illness. Can not have a criminal record of any kind. Must have a license

No matter what you do with gun laws it always bumps into the second amendment, so unless the government were to make some kind of change to it which would be "kinda" unlawful, then I think gun control laws will remain the same. As for my opinion on it, guns are fine until someone screws around with them, so I don't think there will ever be a perfect balance with something as easy and lethal like a gun. Battle and survival of the fittest is human nature, war will never be under control, and that goes the same for guns.

Dyrdek wrote I hate guns with a passion. I don't believe in the idea that you need them for protection, there are other measures you can use instead of a gun.

Like the police ten minutes after your pulse has stopped? Like a knife that you brought to a gun fight?

There's nothing wrong with hating them, that's your choice. However, I will not allow people who have made that choice to affect my right to defend myself. People who are pro-restriction rarely have taken it upon themselves to actually understand the issue at hand, so I strongly suggest you take the time to inform yourself before arriving at a conclusion.

The reason why the 2nd Amendment was included in the Bill of Rights is not because guns are useful for hunting, self-defense on a personal level, or recreation. It's there to put the people on an equal footing with the military and to ensure that the people are a greater force than the government. Look to recent history if you want justification. If the military can have muskets, the people can have muskets. If the military can have AR15s, the people can have AR15s.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

I don't understand why weapons like guns/explosives are even on the planet, they have caused more wars than anything else.

But I can understand at this point in time why you would need to own a gun for protection, I live in a country where guns/bats are illegal and I have no protection like when my house was broken into I was robbed by gunpoint and had no way to protect myself.
