Well when I quit chewing about 2 weeks ago I chewed a lot of gum, and a lot of sunflower seeds. In fact I still chew quite a bit of seeds.

dont buy any cigarettes and make sure you dont have any that are easy to get to, then when you fell like you need one get a sucker or popsicle something that'll take your mind off it for a short period of time, and defiantly get a stress ball...they help a lot

Good Luck

You think it doesn't kill you but it is just as bad as a cigarette because you are still inhaling smoke that is imbedding tar into your lungs and the smoke being as hot as it is, is burning your lungs at the same time... I hope you aren't my patient later in life because you will be my lowest priority.

I have never smoked so I wouldn't exactly be an expert on this, however here is how I would go about it:

1. Cut down gradually:
Go from however many you smoke per day, cut it down by about 10%. Do this every other day.

2. Do it with a friend/partner:
You would be amazed how much easier it is to get through a struggle like giving up smoking if you do it with someone else, you can motivate and encourage each other as well as having someone to progress with.

3. Use some kind of distraction:
Use some of the many techniques people use to distract themselves/pre-occupy themselves/satisfy themselves from smoking. Examples include: Nicotine patches, nicotine inhalers, sunflower seeds etc.

4. Enjoy the benefits from cutting down/not smoking at all such as better physical health and more money because you won't have wasted it on cigarettes/other items
