I think it has some positive and negative effects. A person that robbed a bank said in his suicide note that he used MW2 as a way to train for the attack. Also, some games are educational and help children with math, reading, English, science etc.

Like most things in the life there is always a positive and negative so I would like to list both.

Positive- We advance ourselves in technology further and ensure that the next generation is more tech savy than our selves, which will increase our chances on multiple things such as. More environmental things, better and faster technology, cure diseases ect. Another positive is sense we are moving into a huge technology age a lot more of us are more suited to use high tech devices. With games giving us the use of technology and the development in some parts of our mind such as problem solving it can be considered a Positive in multiple ways.

Negative- We are becoming more lazy and pathetic, with all the advances there is less for us to do. For god sakes you can get a girlfriend from a site now a days. It also has proven it does no positive on brain cells except for letting them sit there and have no use, with that it presents ALOT of problems.People are losing simple social skills and are becoming more awkward every day, and it is killing society. Gaming has a major contribution to all of this sense it is technology in use.

My overall answer is it is in between it doesn't have just one solid affect. It is bad and good at the same time.

Video games have shown what the world can make and the technological advancements that can be put into a single CD ROM, but I do not think they have left the greatest mark on the world.

Businesses like Microsoft, Treyarch, Activision are having a great impact. People love the PS3 and the Xbox. But some love it to much.

For me I feel like we (kids, teens) that were born from 2000 up, have been distracted by video games, and not had the full enjoyment of life. I know this was my case when I was in Elementary and Middle School. I played the Halo Series every single day after I got home. I had terrible grades, and never read.

I got in 9th Grade, and this was still the case. I sold my Xbox 10 months ago, and feel so much more relaxed. My assignments are on time, I can hang out with friends. I have more of an outside life style.

Video Games to me, have kept the world in a box. The Technological advancements are amazing! And I love what we have captured, but some of it may be too addictive.

Of course though, there are positive effects of what we have done with video games. The first video game, was just to act as a Simulation. For people training in War. We have great simulations and exactly what it can feel like. This is amazing. I love that we can look at a screen, and direct a missile, or a drone flying 15,000 feet above ground.

Over all, I think that Video games have a bad influence on teens and kids. Not because the violence or the blood and gore, but because people can get to hooked on it. This may not be the case for you, but just think about the one kid in your class. Who plays it all the time, and has bad grades or isn't very sociable, or is annoying.

Thanks for reading.

Well, my answer would be yes and no. Let me start out with the negatives of video games and then go into the positives.

Negative - Well, the big negative is the amount of laziness video games cause. Also the amount of health problems that come to long term exposure to playing video games. i.e. obesity, heart problems, eye problems, etc.

Positive -Video games can have positive setbacks. Technology progressive a little as each game is made. Simulation games are helpful for jobs. i.e. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines. The Wii is another example of a positive way to play video games. The Wii gets you moving and gets you motivated. The Kinect for Xbox 360 is another example, it gets you moving also.

There are other positive and negative setbacks to video games and mainly everyone knows the common risks of long term video game exposure.

Well, I don't want to write a whole essay, so I am going to end here.

Yes and No.

Yes...
Video Games have offered 3 things, fun, jobs, and money.

No...
Some people get overly obsessed with it and don't associate themselves with the outside world. That is a BAD thing to do. I personally play video games almost every minute that I'm not obligated to do something else(school) But at school, I am a very sociable person. I play video games a lot, and I have a lot of fun. But I don't let it effect my social skills.

Overall...
I think Video Games have made a very positive impact on the world, Like really, All of the excuses I've seen so far are pretty much circled around the same area. Video Games keep people away from doing other more health activities. But really, Wouldn't it be the same for say... Football was never invented. There'd be a lot less accidents in the world, Yet a lot of people still enjoy it. Like even think if Cars were never invented, We wouldn't have a super fast way of transportation, But it'd also avoid a lot of the deaths were facing today. In my way of thinking, Their is never anything PERFECT. Everything has its flaws and everything has some good aspects to it. I don't see anything as really to harmful that we should've never invented it.

I would have to say no because it is making companies money but it is putting people in front of the TV more and becoming unhealthy because of the addiction toward the game. Kids are also becoming more aggressive and mean towards others including parents.

-that's my opinion

-This is my opinion-

Gaming has changed the world. I belive M games have changed the world in a bad way. There are under aged children playing these games. They knife someone in the game and think it is FUNNY. They then try it in real life and.....M means mature so u need to be mature enough to understand that ITS JUST A GAME AND U SHOULD NEVER TRY IT IN REAL LIFE.

The reply with the most thumbs up belongs to: Soft

Soft wrote No it hasn't.

The young population would all have so much better grades if video games were never made.

So much more athletic people.

Forty-four percent of the youth 8 to 18 also reported their friends are addicted to video games, the survey said. The average child 8 to 12 plays 13 hours of video games per week, while teens age 13 to 18 year play 14 hours of video games per week, according to the survey.

* 12- to 14-year-olds are equally as likely to play M- or AO-rated games as 15- to 17-year-olds

The world could have kept on going without video games.

P.S I'm not saying that's the case for all video game players.

The reply I personally liked the most belonged to: -TricKzHD-
-TricKzHD- wrote Personally I was in Year 10 last year I took around 10 exams. Mainly English maybe one a month, anyway's I played xbox a lot! like seriously I played it instead of going to school. This really affected me as I was playing all day going to bed like 6am in morning. This effected my grades: end of year results whilst playing xbox - English: E Maths: D Science: E, So I woke up at 4pm in the day which was crazy (missed school) then at 4pm go on xbox till 6am next day. Which meant my sleeping was the wrong way round, sleep through day play through night/morning. My single parent didn't want anything to do with me, that's all you need to know. So I sold my xbox, got a life, parents are great now so im happy and im now in year 11 my grades are all spot on C's, So xbox did ruin my life, I currently play PS3. I stick to GTA not CoD, Cod was more of a threat to my life than a gun.

So gaming has impact on people who need to concentrate (revise for school, work etc...) but insted they play xbox, film themselves spinning a 360 and shooting! when they should be doing revision for they future insted they waste there life on gaming.

/debate end.
