theartftw wrote The tenth General Discussion section debate. Rules are the same as the previous, but for new people here they are:

  • Do not flame others for their opinions.
  • Thumbs up or thumbs down other users posts if you agree or disagree respectively.

I will give a rep reward to the person with the highest amount of thumb's up, and to the answer I personally like the most, so be sure to think long and make your answer thorough, voting down does nothing.

So the question of the day: Have video games left a positive impact on the world?

Yes they have because recording game play and putting it on YouTube is a job for a lot of people. Plus you have gaming groups like Machinima, NGT, and etc. who put videos up daily and make a profit off of doing something they like.

I think it has educational video games are helping out the mentally handicaped kids.
But other than that i really think it has not students grades are dropping because they stay up late playing video games and there social lives are starting to disappear.

I don't think there is a negative effect at all. I think its left a good effect on the world. With all the tournaments some people have made lots of money for collage. Also gaming has helped keep some kids off the streets and doing drugs. So i say gaming has left a + impact!

I believe that gaming should just be there for when your bored
But people get carried away. They skip school to play games.
I used to find gaming fun but on every game the servers are filled with little kids who are too young to even have an xbox.

Rant over

Video games are a great way to entertain yourself, there are lots of different types so it's fun for everyone. But if played excessively it can do more worse than good.

I once saw a new article saying Xbox was more addictive than cocaine which had some very good points, so you can see why it could be bad and it's usually young gamer's who play for long amounts of time and regularly. When that time could be devoted to getting grades up in school, having a job to earn money and it would work out to be more beneficial for the gamer's.

But they are not all like this, some just play video games for the entertainment and use the console for general use, which would come out with a better outcome on life.

-TanKz- wrote No i don't think it has.
2 years ago before i got xbox i was a happy 14 year old but since i got xbox it's just gone down hill for me. i failed my GCSE's never went in for my last year at school and now im stuck at home with no money or life before i had a career in Boxing and football. So in all fairness them bringing game's out has wrecked our life's but don't forget we chose our path.
Just my opinion

Actually, yes, i do think video games have left a positive impact on the world. It has created many jobs for video game designers. It also keeps kids out of the parents way during the day/night. They keep portable gamers occupied on long trips. They make are day better when we get home from our job/school , we can always count on video games to make us feel better and bring our mood up. Thats my opinion on this topic.
