Heartwood wrote Thoughts on iKey audio M606 V2? I've only good things about them. Could do with some high quality stuff for my House in Spain. Got logitech Z5500 which is brilliant for films (what I use them for) but when I want to sit in the sun and relax to music, headphones get too hot and I'd like to listen to something of high quality (have a zeppelin air, but lacks in the lows and I don't have an Apple device now). I'd sell it to replace, but I don't want to spend loads. I can get a pair of M606 V2s for 264 incl. shipping to Spain.

What kind of sound did you want? I don't know anything about the M606, but I've tried a good number of monitors. The KRK Rokit series has decent low end for monitors, while the Yamaha HS50 is much more neutral. But I'm assuming that you want something like your Beyers, so the KRK is probably your best option. The RP6 has more bass than the cheaper RP5, but they might be out of your budget.

Heartwood wrote Just received my Custom One Pros by Beyerdynamic through the post. Well, to be honest, at the moment, they're not all that great. Maybe it's because I don't use lossless audio codec for my music, but the bass isn't all that great. However, that doesn't mean they won't be good as I know they have to "loosen" up a bit (can't remember the correct term for them).

They are about 3x better than my Bose OE2 (and more comfy, leak less and isolate more)

Around 10x better than any Beats I've tried, and I've tried all but executives. And I've only just got them.

Many thanks for the recommendations, and Ishcabible - enjoy your gold and keep up the brilliant recommendations all of you!

Even with all the ports open? Lossless wouldn't really increase bass.

Even with the ports open, I mean it's there don't get me wrong, but it's no better than the Bose.

I also find they're lacking a bit of mids, having said that, after a few hours of usage they're getting better dramatically.

They definitely are lacking in mids, and you really won't get much more bass than the Bose for nicer headphones.

The K181DJ is fantastic for $100 and you can control the bass setting based on what you're listening to.

Budget: Roughly $100 can go a little over though

Music preferences: Dubstep, Clasical, Metal, Metalic Metal ect.

Type/form-factor: I want a portable set. I would like it to be as portable as beats. (altough not beats sound quality)

Open or closed: Probably closed if I can get some that doesn't loose the upper range that much

Listening from: mainly iPhone with these. I have a bigger set at home already but I know that with a 3.5 mm I will not get the best sound quality.

Details: I want them to be light, good sounding. I have been looking at sennheiser HD 219 but not sure about it. Please PM me with your responce. Thanks!

Check out the Sennheiser HD 25-1 II, AKG K181DJ, and Noontec Zoro. They can be had for [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , and [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] respectively. The HD 25-1 will be excellent for rock and it has great punchy bass (different from Beats hurr durr rumble bzzzzzzzzz bass). The AKG K181 has incredible bass and you can adjust it to suit what music you're listening to. The Zoro is more of a neutral audiophile headphone than its looks would imply and I recommend you have a look at this [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
