I was just wondering if you could help me out with something? I have Sony headphones, don't know exactly what they're called but anyway when I listen to music through my phone the headphones are really quiet even when it's on max volume but when listening through my laptop it's much louder.

You haven't actually told us what you need help with. Your phone sounds obviously underpowered, an amplifier like the FiiO E6 will increase the volume.

Icy wrote Heyo. Back again for advice on some headsets.

I'm currently using Sennheiser PC360's connected to the Astro MixAmp and they're great. I was wondering if anyone has tried the Beyerdynamic MMX 300? I'm getting really mixed reviews from searching around whether or not it's worth the extra money to upgrade. Open to others suggestions as well if they're in the same tier. Thanks

I'd actually call that a downgrade as far as actual gaming performance goes. The Beyers will be bassier and more "fun" and still great for gaming, though. Not really worth paying so much for a sidegrade. If I was going to upgrade what you have, I'd go for the AKG Q701 and an Antlion Modmic. There's a lot of great info in this thread if you're interested:

They have to be comfortable, I don't have a big ear canal, so anything smaller would be preferred. Also, I want them to sound decent at the least. I made a thread about it earlier, but I've decided to post about it here. I was thinking about getting the Phillips [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] /3580, the Monoprice 8320, or the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .

Those two and the Meelectronics M6 are the sub-$20 options I'm aware of. I'd take a look at the M6 as well.

Parall3l is in Australia (IIRC?) so he can help you track down whatever you need. I'm not sure what's available or how the pricing is there. You could see if you can find the Audio Technica Pro 700 MkII, Ultrasone Pro 750, Aiaiai TMA-1, Sennheiser HD 25-1 II, V-Moda LP2, and V-Moda M80, though.

Just received my Custom One Pros by Beyerdynamic through the post. Well, to be honest, at the moment, they're not all that great. Maybe it's because I don't use lossless audio codec for my music, but the bass isn't all that great. However, that doesn't mean they won't be good as I know they have to "loosen" up a bit (can't remember the correct term for them).

They are about 3x better than my Bose OE2 (and more comfy, leak less and isolate more)

Around 10x better than any Beats I've tried, and I've tried all but executives. And I've only just got them.

Many thanks for the recommendations, and Ishcabible - enjoy your gold and keep up the brilliant recommendations all of you!

Even with all the ports open? Lossless wouldn't really increase bass.

Even with the ports open, I mean it's there don't get me wrong, but it's no better than the Bose.

I also find they're lacking a bit of mids, having said that, after a few hours of usage they're getting better dramatically.

Thoughts on iKey audio M606 V2? I've only good things about them. Could do with some high quality stuff for my House in Spain. Got logitech Z5500 which is brilliant for films (what I use them for) but when I want to sit in the sun and relax to music, headphones get too hot and I'd like to listen to something of high quality (have a zeppelin air, but lacks in the lows and I don't have an Apple device now). I'd sell it to replace, but I don't want to spend loads. I can get a pair of M606 V2s for 264 incl. shipping to Spain.
