If you get ratted with darkcomet then you need to learn more about an antivirus. Pretty much any antivirus can detect DarkComet( I even think that windows builtin antivirus). I assuming that you had antivirus disabled, that would probably be the reason that you got ratted in the first place.

There are things called crypters. They make files fully undetectable by anti-viruses. Most hackers don't know how to crypt files which is why so many of them get detected.

The other thing you said about OP putting his stuff on a memory stick, loads of RATs have spreaders, so when you put a memory stick in the infected computer, that memory stick will transfer the virus to any computer it enters. That's hard to do though, but OP should be aware of that.

And the RAT only works when you're logged onto the computer and have an internet access, so you'd notice the hacker installing a keylogger.

Some pretty useful stuff you said as-well though

Yes there are crypters, but most of them(the goods one atleast) cost money, if your going to buy a crypter then you might as well just buy a undetected rat. Yes i said that he should put his files on a flash drive, but i also said to hope that the files were not infected. And darkcomet comes with a built in keylogger, so you would not have a separate install, you would just install the one file.

Oh god, really don't know why people are saying this is a keylogger. Welp, I guess that is too much internet for today.

They clearly had to connect to the PC to be able to take control of it, not just "Log his keys"
