Wrong. I listen to all kinds of music including newer stuff. I'm just aware that there's more out there that we are given on a plate.

What happened to all music in general?

It's really just more music out there with easy access, if you search through artist you'll find something you like.

Their are many rappers who are very smart, lyrical, and instrument orientated these days.

I really love with Kid Cudi is doing to the music game.

That's because it is not longer 'hip-hop'... If you was such a big rap fan you'd know how grime took over... Here is an example of an artist who made that happen and why Grime is so good...

Hip-Hop or rap has completely changed in the main stream media from what it originally was about when it came came to light with significance in the 1970s.

The original hip hop artists in the 70s were people or groups like The Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, Doug E Fresh etc

Then you had the 80s to mid 90s the so called 'Golden Era' of rap/hip-hop with artists/groups like Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, Eric B & Rakim, Beastie Boys etc. Those were some of the best of all time. I mean rap originally was about sending out messages, politics, looking at social problems etc before the Gangsta rap genre took over as the 90's went on, and whilst I do like some gangsta rap Mach as NWA (they had a story to tell), it was already the beginning of the end of true original rap/hip hop. Leading to today where in the main stream media a lot of rap is about glorifying having tonnes of money or drugs/weed, sex, the so called 'good life' style.

I mean for me I prefer 80s and 90s rap to anything else in rap/hip-hop culture. In my eyes it just seems artists back then in the main stream media were extremely talented with lyrics, the rhyming was very good, the beats to songs were better etc That's just my view.
I'm sure there will be another 'Golden Era' of rap in my lifetime.

Taking of older hip-hop if anyone wants to, go and check out Big Daddy Kane, especially the songs 'Set It Off' and 'Ain't no half steppin! Both very good song, that go extremely hard in terms of flow, lyrics and the beat
