Wetrich wrote I HATE when people say that the government should all out ban firearms. Do people not realize that without firearms, the government could literally do anything they please without worry, because the public would have no way to stop them. Also, over 13.7 million people in the United States hunt. That is 6% of the population of the US. Finally, I think the most annoying part of people wanting a ban on firearms is that most people who are scared of guns, have never even held or shot one. People only hear what's on the news about shootings and massacres. Nobody understands that guns provide food for families and are used in helping control the population of wildlife. Sorry guys its just annoying. /endrant

A hunting license solves all those problems. Also, so many countries already have strict gun control laws and you don't see their governments doing whatever they want.

i don't think that guns should be completely banned, but we should be more strict on gun licenses like places like Canada have. If you like to hunt, that's good, you can get a hunting license which you will have to pass a knowledge and safety test.

I strongly disagree with the way they do it now, as anybody who is of age can basically walk into a gun store, and come out 10 minutes later with a new gun.

I totally understand the their reasoning for not wanting it. I just don't think it would be a smart move to take away the guns of the people of the current most powerful country in the world. If it happens to go the way Germany did, who will stop it? While I wish we could live without them, I just don't think it is possible given our current situation. Better safe than very sorry.

I'm gonna throw some stats in here with my opinion. I believe guns should not be restricted. People should have a right to own a gun if they want.

Take a look at this.

When you try to ban guns, criminals still have access to buying guns over a black market. It's really not that hard, it's just like a normal website and you can go onto it and order them straight to your home. Regular citizens will not have access to these guns or will feel less of a need for these guns.

Criminals buy guns off a black market and then other people in that area WON'T BE ABLE TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AGAINST HIM/HER.

Now, if everyone on your street had a gun and knew how to use it, would you really try to break in their home?

If you know everyone in a bank has a gun and knows how to use it, are you really going to walk in there and try to rob it?

Now tell me, why exactly do people want to ban guns completely? It really doesn't make any sense to me at all. And don't try to pull the "It makes the community safer" BS, because I just disproved that.

I'm not sure of the rest of the country, but in Missouri, you are not legally allowed to hunt without a hunting license and hunting tags. And in order to get the license you have to pass a knowledge and safety class. So what you are saying is already in effect.

Perfect phrasing because in the UK we don't own guns legally and the crime rate with guns are low

Obviously crime rate with guns will be low if nobody has guns.

Surprise surprise, we have low gun crime rate because we have no guns. We can get licences for firearms for hunting, I see no issue with that being the case in the US. But of course, it is in your history to have them, i have no qualms as it doesn't effect me.
