Xbox one will please all your entertainment needs e.g. play games, watch movies, browse the web, stream videos on youtube. Xbox will be best for multiplayer games as xbox 360 was over ps3, microsoft has a pretty good idea that it wants to be a more social, fun and a friendly gaming experience so if you really play games online this could be a big selling point.

PS4 will focus on gaming more with limited other features however it still has a few streaming options. PS4 will have slightly better graphics on 3rd party games (maybe) but first party games will most likely smash xbox's first party graphically however the gameplay will have to be good as well. PS4 will most likely be a first party single player console just like ps3 was, online will still be there but microsoft has the edge when it comes to online.

so in short terms

Xbox one's focus - Multiplayer, social, multitask, TV/movies/gaming

PS4 focus - slightly better graphics on third party games, awesome single player games, epic graphics on first party games.

Actually, the PS4 graphics aren't better than the Xbox One, if anything the Xbox Ones look better (better lighting, colours and special effects). However the loader times are a couple of second quicker. This can be seen in all the comparison videos...

Wait till all the bugs are fixed on both consoles, then decide.

Seems to me they are all going to PS4 though (thank god) with all the xbone crap, i personally got the xbox one because i want a all in one machine. Things that can do more than 1 thing at once are too awesome :p so yeah das why i bought it. Now i'm not saying the ps4 is crap or not as good they are both very good i really just prefer xbox since i've been with them for quite a while.

In my opinion, I'd go with the console that your friends are getting. It's not very fun playing by yourself, unless of course that's your thing.
