Just get the console that most of your friends have..

whatever your friends are getting, but im getting ps4 because its cheaper, looks better and I fancied a change

but if the ps4 has an advantage in graphics whats the point?

I think the ps4 is better i have both and so far ps4 stands out more for me anyways.

Xbox one, I got one last night and absolutely love it, so much in fact I have online time right now with a modified console and I'm highly considering not getting online today and playing the Xbox ONE

Don't buy a console just because it has a better GPU honestly, you need to think about the overall picture.

Xbox one will please all your entertainment needs e.g. play games, watch movies, browse the web, stream videos on youtube. Xbox will be best for multiplayer games as xbox 360 was over ps3, microsoft has a pretty good idea that it wants to be a more social, fun and a friendly gaming experience so if you really play games online this could be a big selling point.

PS4 will focus on gaming more with limited other features however it still has a few streaming options. PS4 will have slightly better graphics on 3rd party games (maybe) but first party games will most likely smash xbox's first party graphically however the gameplay will have to be good as well. PS4 will most likely be a first party single player console just like ps3 was, online will still be there but microsoft has the edge when it comes to online.

so in short terms

Xbox one's focus - Multiplayer, social, multitask, TV/movies/gaming

PS4 focus - slightly better graphics on third party games, awesome single player games, epic graphics on first party games.

The PS4 sounds like a better console on the spec side of things but the only reason people actually play for is fun, so even though the Xbox is more expensive I'd say get the Xbox One because the user interface is great and more people play on XBL than PSN.
