Last night our servers hard drive failed. This in turn made us lose all the data stored on the HDD.
Unfortunately,we were unable to pull any data from the failed drive ourselves. Because of this, we have had to resort to using our latest back up which dates back to January 5th 2011.
This means:
-Any new members who signed up must sign up again
-Any posts made have been lost
-If you paid for gold, is has been lost. (We are working on a solution for this.)
In other words, all data from the 5th until now has been lost. We are still waiting to hear if this data can be pulled from the HDD.
Luckily, we have been able to get the server back up very fast, but the downloads and video areas will both be closed until they are checked for loss or damage.
TheTechGame may have server issues on and off over the next few hours because the server has not yet been fully optimized to be able to deal with the traffic.
This sucks for all TTG users, including staff. So please try and help us by reposting anything you may have lost and reporting any bugs you may find.

All issues regarding loss of gold are to be PM'd to this user.
Staff will review and resolve any and all PMs regarding the loss of gold sent to that account as our time becomes available, as long as they follow these guidelines:
Any PMs not found to follow those guidelines will be promptly deleted.
We're dealing with the site issues as best we can,
and thing s will start to smooth out soon.

Update: Downloads area is now back open we are missing 40 new downloads i had added over the 4 days i have them all and much more on my desktop i will readd them i have been awake for 19 hours so i'm over it for today i will readd them after some sleep ;)

Summary of the last 24 hours for the userbase:
Down side:
Obviously, data loss.
Posts for the last 5 days may have been lost for good,
and the rep you lost may not be restored.
Gold was lost for some people and we're saving fixing that for last (see my post above for details).
Up side:
No more random throttling of users.
(Your connections won't hate TTG for no reason anymore)
Along with that is increased server stability over the course of time due to introducing server redundancy.
Cope for now, folks.
The good far outweighs the bad.

we are making changes to the server configuration because we lost the HDD we lost all of fixes and changes we had made to make the site run smooth.
we are now making these changes again the site should run fast for everyone asap
