(TuT) How to Speed up your Internet ConnectionPosted:

This is very simple and will only take 2 minutes
A complete list of DNS specific to your country can be found here: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
1. Open control panel and make sure its in "control panel home" view.
This can be changed by just clicking it from classic view at the side of the screen
2. Click " Network Status and Tasks." There will be a small box with your connection name in it. Now just click the id of your connection below 'Wireless network connection.'
3. This will open the connection status window. There are three boxes to the bottom of the window. Click "Properties"
4. User account control needs your permission to continue. This will open yet another Properties window. Double click on "Internet Protocol Version 4"
5. Final step, at the bottom of the new properties window. You will find DNS server settings. Select "Use the following DNS server addresses." You can now change the DNS server adresses. Replace them with the ones in the picture
Primary: 208.67.222.222
Secondary: 208.67.220.220
Now click ok on both of the properties windows and close control panel.
For these to take effect restart your internet browser.
Results can vary by doing this. My connection increased by 3mb/s.
I do not know if this increases your live speed as that depends on locality and the host.

Baconator69 wrote Mine is under basic settings.By changing this setting in your router it speeds up the connection for every device on the network. Including Xbox.

funny thing is that lowered my speed by about 2 mbps, and it only lowered my ping by 3

Well I did say results may vary my internet increased from 15mb to 18mb

This only works on vista or above to my knowledge otherwise its a different root to these windows.
