In this video series, I will be demonstrating how the JTAG modification is performed on an Xbox 360. This tutorial assumes an intermediate level knowledge of electronics.

Please take note of the following requirements to complete this project:
- A PC with an LPT port.
- A CAT5 cable.
- An LPT printer cable or male connector.
- A soldering iron.
- Reasonably good soldering skills.
- An Xbox 360 with a Xenon motherboard and a dashboard revision below the 8xxx series.
- Torx 8 and 10 screwdrivers, and optionally, a flathead screwdriver.

To identify your motherboard and eventally determine the viability of your console, you can refer to the diagram below:

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

If your board-side power connector matches the first image and you do not have a HDMI port, you have a Xenon motherboard.

To find your dashboard revision number, choose "System Settings" under the "My Xbox" section of your dashboard. In the new window, select "Console Settings" and finally "System Info.".

The dashboard revision number of a console is displayed in the following format:

"2.0.XXXX.0" (Where X represents the revision in question)

If your dashboard revision number begins with any digit higher than "7" or is more than four digits long, you will not be able to apply the JTAG modification under ANY circumstances.

Any consoles which have been connected to Xbox LIVE since June 2009 or manufactured after that date are unsuitable for this modification.

You should fix the other youtube vids, then it'll be a decent post. Even though there is a sticky in this section about it too.. .__.
