I'll be 100% honest with you. I'm not so sure it is worth playing without all of the DLC. The power level is currently 600, but you would be capped at 305. You will get bored quick and will have pretty much no end game content besides PvP. And end game content is really where the game begins. The Forsaken expansion is what made the game great. Before that it was just meh. I know it was free and all, I am just saying without the expansions, there are better free games out there. Warframe for example, is a comparable game, and people seem to love it and it's always getting new content updates.

Edit: But then again if you have enjoyed what you have played so far, go for it. You may decide to get the expansions. It would definitely be worth it then.

I get what you're saying but I've been wanting to give destiny 2 a try and I heard it got a lot better with expansions so I intend to buy them once I get a slight better feel of how I like the game.

Well it is a good time to get into the game. I mean if you are thinking about getting the expansions, then it is definitely worth a try to see if you like it. I was just saying that if you were dead set on not getting the expansions and only playing it because it was free, then it probably wouldn't be worth it. The base game is okay, don't get me wrong. But the end game content wasn't really there and got boring very quickly before the latest expansion.

Motto: It's a hard life, picking stones and pulling teats, but sure as god's got sandals, it beats fighting dudes with treasure trails
I've had Destiny 2 since its release and have yet to pick it up since the release of its last DLC. It kinda lost its flare as soon as I beat it. But' with the release of all this DLC, it might be worth a play again.

Destiny 2 was fun in the beginning for me...grinding the sh*t out of it with my buddies and PvP was a lot of fun too with Trials. I haven't picked it back up though after the first DLC because I burned out and no one wanted to play plus Fortnite rolled around at that time.
