Hi I'm Matthew,
I am new to this forum and I am struggling to pick suitable parts for my PC. You've probably read many posts like this on your forum before but I would be grateful if some of you could give me a hand.

These are my hopes for the PC:

- Run most racing games (Mainly iRacing) well at a consistent 60fps
- Run iRacing in VR with an Oculus Rift
- Run software for my Uni course such as VMware
- A 500GB SSD and 1TB (Not an important requirement)
- Cant decide between an i5 8th Generation or an i7
- My budget is around £1200 which I could increase slightly if needed
- I already own a suitable monitor and speaker set up

What is the make and model of your monitor(s)
Will you be overclocking?
Ryzen is a better option than Intel for you IMO, especially an i5. That said, if you were going Intel, an 8th gen i7 would be a solid choice.
