yes, sometimes when you make a new account it offers you a free month of gold. I dont think its possible to do it on the same account but if its xbox one then gold shares between accounts if its set as the home xbox anyway.

that doesnt matter. its the account with gold that would need to be set as the home xbox.

You can check the Gold Members Deals for a good deal on gold, but there's no free methods out right now that I've seen around.
