So I have been thinking about posting something like this for awhile. I would like to bounce some ideas off of some people on producing music within the TTG community. For a long time, I have been getting help from members of other sites but want to bring my expertise here and look to learn more information from my favorite community, The Tech Game.

There isn't any set requirement to what I want posted on this topic, but I would like it to be music production oriented. I dont really want it to be about posting videos of your covers, rather helping others decide what presets sound best and what you can do to boost your production to another level. Post your equipment, some stuff you worked on and anything else you feel the need to be critiqued or to show a technique you have mastered.

Now that that is out of the way, I would like to start by introducing myself as a music producer and what I have been working on.

My name is Ethan and I produce EDM music similar to The Chainsmokers. I am good at vocal layering and have a very good understanding of creating synths through Alchemy in Logic Pro X. For a lot of my production, I use sampled drums from the likes of Metro Boomin to Calvin Harris. I do like to sidechain a lot of my synths to give them a bounce as well as giving them a large room feel. Currently I am at my university so my studio is very limited. At home, I have large Yamaha speakers that I can listen to when I want to properly mix, but I am currently limited to Beats Studio headphones and a Jabra Soulmate pill speaker. When at home, I use an Audio Technica AT2020 condenser mic for my vocals. I have been producing music for roughly 3 years now. The trumpet is my main instrument as I have played it for 8 years. I do know how to play the piano as well, but I mainly use it to be able to layer my synths and other sounds.

I would like to reach out to the community to learn some new techniques and put out some ideas. If nobody really posts on this, I'll just start putting samples of songs I'm producing and ask for opinions. What I would love to have happen is for someone to explain to me how they produce their vocal chops as well as what they do when they want to find a specific preset. Do you ever pay for yours?

Sooo yeah, don't really know where this topic is going to go, but I would like to become friends with music producers within this community. Thank you.

I play guitar and bass. I have a yamaha keyboard synth and a snare for backtracks or just playing piano. I have a decent preamp, that i got for like $100. Im better at playing guitar and bass than I am at making backing tracks or drum fills. I want to get a lot better at mixing. Id be happy to share some of the stuff I make in the future. My bass guitar is a ibanez gsr200, so its not the most expensive bass. I have a couple guitars, but my favorite is my blue Jackson Dinky.

Being that my music centers around guitar, any music that I've made has been more or less in the rock category.

Thanks for this thread

I have begun myself to produce music, same genre although I have ventured to rap beats but not for actual usage more less something I can spit stupid bars over in parties.

I have a few songs I made myself and a few remixes as well, they're by all means cheesy in my eyes but catchy at the same time I guess it's not bad for being entirely self taught.

Post some of your songs for sure or hmu with a PM I'd love to maybe see our differences and maybe learn a thing or 2 off each other.

I currently am using fl studio with multiple sound packs mainly drums and snaps.
