So recently my laptop has began to run extremely slow. It takes 30 mins to load up and freezes several times during that time. I have fresh reset my laptop twice and still no luck. My anti virus did expire recently which could be a factor, but I didn't think that would affect the speed of the laptop that much..

Any ideas on how to fix when it finally loads up? (Posted from my iPhone LuL)

Which OS are you running?

Throw the system into Safe Mode after downloading Malwarebytes & AdwCleaner. That should hopefully gut the OS of any unwanted items.

If you're still experiencing the same issues, you're honestly best of by wiping and re-installing Windows after backing up any wanted data. It's extremely easy to do, if you need any help with that feel free to PM me.

Motto: Do What You Can't
Does your hard drive make a clicking noise?
If it does you might have a bad hard drive.

And by fresh reset, do you mean you completely wiped your hard drive and reinstalled windows?

Might be time for a new laptop. I stick to Mac for my laptops and I build my own PC's. If you have any direct questions, I am in the school of informatics and can help you. Just PM me!

One thing that could be holding your laptops speed is if there are any viruses on the laptop it will definitely slow down the speed.

I also have a HP laptop and was running really slow and for awhile I thought I had a virus or something on it. What it actually was that on my own laptop I was logging into my account with and email and password like usual. And I forgot that i had also used the same account on another laptop so they were intertwining with eachother. Once i realised I took the account off the other laptop and the speed went back to normal.
