Okay so, the PC I have isn't meant for gaming so the specs aren't some weird crazy things, just an average PC i guess, but I got myself a GTX 1050 and decided too play some H1z1 KoTK. My old GPU could run practically nothing, was a GTX 610. Never was into PC gaming but got a card that could run some games at decent settings and figured i'd give it a try. Long story short, I'm pretty sure it's frying my 500W PSU. When I play H1, roughly 3-5 minutes after i start playing, my computer gives off a burnt plastic smell, theres no real signs of anything being burnt or melted inside of the PSU, but when i opened it's case, it reeked. Anyone know if maybe I need more power?
My case has 2 fans, 1 on each side, front and back, and my PSU has a 12v fan underneath it which is running at all times.
SPECS:
CPU: AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad Core Processor 3.80GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
Motherboard: MSI Z1-7641
SSD: Not sure but i know it's a 2TB Toshiba drive
RAM: 8GB DDR3
PSU: Turbolink ATX-XG500W

I have a DVDRAM too

If any other specs are needed, let me know and i'll update this

When you first opened the PC was there a bunch of dust? If there was I'd suggest using a can of dustoff and see how much dust could be in your PSU and other parts, doesn't have to be prefect.

Its definitely your power supply. Did a quick look and most of the reviews show that it's complete shit. Is it possible to buy a new psu from best buy around your area?

Yes, I did clean it with dustoff, then i tried too play, same issue /:

And yes IP but they are extremely overpriced, and I'd prefer too have Geek Squad install it cause i know nothing about PC's either, and that's around $99 as well lol. Guess i'm just going too buy one on amazon, thanks guys!

Its your PSU its cheap and craptastic... I even googled it to see the price and the first thing that comes up saying "the crappiest PSU's" I would recommend CORSAIR's they are the best for gaming (in my opinion)

Yeah I saw that too! lol
But it was a prebuilt that i bought mainly for school so I wasn't too worried about components, as long as they worked well with Word, Powerpoint, etc.

Also, will any PSU work with my pc as long as it fits in my case? Or do I need a specific type of psu?
