I wanna get my MacBook up and running again but it's an older model. I was trying to fix it as there was an issue with one of the drives, thought I'd fixed it but now after I boot I get Mac OS X Utilities.
I get 4 options; restore from time machine backup which does not work.
Reinstall Mac OS X, which gives me the option to choose a disk but recovery HD is locked and Macintosh HD is not formatted.
Get help online, which has been no help.
Or Disk Utiluty, which doesn't really help me either. Anyone had or resolved this issue?
Thanks

Forgot to mention, now formatted macintosh HD and it gave me the option to sign into the App Store, then gave me the message 'This item is temporarily unavailable'.

Which MacBook do you have?
When you say the recovery HDD is locked, is it locked by a local password?

If it's a local password, PM me and I can talk you through the steps to bypass local passwords on a Mac.

Alternatively, once in recovery mode, connect the system to your internet and try selecting the Internet Recovery option.

If you're still unsuccessful, feel free to PM and I can talk you through getting it solved.
