No it's not dumb, you just didn't know.

REP in my eyes is pointless and does nothing but it makes you look cool when you get a lot.

Every 100 rep points. You get 1 rep power which makes your reputation go up.

Reputation really does nothing, just gives you some green blocks for ever 10 you get and once you hit 100 you get a cheese block, which is pretty cool.

The ways to get reputation are listed on your profile when you move the bar to the right and reach "Reputation", you can check how many reputation points/post you need to earn one more reputation power (what's listed on your REP on your posts).

As people have said, it's pretty much pointless. I was at around 270 before I got reset but I still don't care even now. It doesn't make you any better or popular on here.

It not a "dumb" question, you didn't know due to you simply don't know so I'm here to help you. If you go on your "Account" Account.html and go to your reputation power tab on your account it will say and guide you how much rep you need to get that one reputation power etc... Example here if shows how much rep I need to get that extra 1 rep.

How to gain rep?
- You can simply post around the forums and gain rep after 25 posts
- You can make your own giveaways on this site, but you need to be a Gold Memeber. You can host gold giveaways in the General Discussion that's all really.
- Make helpful tips, or even help people out with questions, arkwork, exam questions etc..
- You can also join the ShoutBox and staff (sometimes) gives out 200-1000 rep to answer their questions correctly.


What does rep do?
NOTHING.

- Makes you not cool
- Makes you like you beg rep in the SB [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
