Lmao Im done with this shit. I'm jus browsing my facebook timeline and a friend shares this photo of a women saying she deserves $15 for minimum wage to feed her kids and pay the bills. WELL MAYBE IF YOU WOULD OF **** FINISHED HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE WE WOULDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. fast food jobs are for high schoolers and college kids for spending money not **** adults to make a career out of it let alone live off. and then they say "America is #1 in Child poverty" Well maybe if the dumbasses who can't even make enough money to live on there own shouldn't **** reproduce. And another thing I saw "Oh my dream is to go to college but can't do it saving 7.25 and hour" Well bitch should of finsihed high school.

I agree, i can't fathom people who think what they're doing (working in fast food restaurants) is worthy of $15/hour. Yes, the current min wage is hard to live on. But guess what, if you have minimal skills you're going to get minimal wage. The work fast food workers do is barely worth what they're getting paid now.
They love to take the easy way out and blame corporate for their lack of skill sets in everything else.

This would probably get more attention if you wrote it a bit more coherently.

Besides what you think, many people simply do not have the resources or the ability to attend college. College is not the end all be all. A degree does not get you a job. It just makes you more eligible for a job.

This is one of the issue people do not seem to understand. And like you mentioned. Some of these people are trying to support kids while working at these low paying jobs. If they are struggling to begin with, how are they going to afford a degree from a college if money is already tight?

College, on average is 25,000$ a year, that is including room and board, at least 12 hours of class, a poor estimate on how much books cost, and some other expenses.
Sure they have community college, which is cheaper, but you get the point. Government assistance for college is really dependent on your income. If your family makes too much money, you get noting. If your family makes not enough money, you still don't get what you need to attend classes. There is a certain thresh hold that people have to be in for the loans and grants to even be enough to help.

And even then there is the time aspect. These people are supporting families and working a job(s).

Unless you have a better excuse than saying that these people need to just go to college, then just stop. I am fortunate enough to get the opportunity to go to college. I know the reality of financial aid needed to attend college.

They are not asking for more money just because they think they should make more money while working in fast food. They are asking for the minimum wage, which is determined by the government to be enough to make by on, to be raised so that they can make a livable wage.

I am on the fence about it, I can take it or leave it, just know more about the topic before you make yourself look like a total dumbass.

TL;DR: OP has no Idea what he is talking about. College doesn't give you a job. It just makes you more likely to get one. Not everyone can afford it.

True, not everyone can afford college. And the only job you'll be able to land even then is a low end one simply because employers think "Well, i can hire this college grad vs this other kid in high school for the same wage? Damn, you're hired!". And that isn't really something to be proud of.
BUT, on that point, you absolutely do not need college to make a great living. Get self educated and start a small business. We live in a time where starting an online business is in reach of virtually anyone. But for that, you need a lot of knowledge and skill sets, many of which these people do not have and most likely will not put in the effort to get.

I totally agree with you online businesses are something anyone can do you just need to put the time and effort in and think about it long term not short term.

>tfw people think minimum wage won't lead to less staff at a company, harder to find jobs, less hours, standard of living increasing.

Minimum wage wasn't created as a way to live off of.

You're argument isn't the best. Half of it is just saying "BITCH SHOULD HAVE WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL", which I agree, people who don't have the qualifications shouldn't get paid the best. But, finishing high school isn't the best accomplishment, so I'm not sure why you kept bringing it up. Some people can't go to college because they're family can't afford it, and maybe they need more money to go so they would like a higher wage.

You're saying the only reason some people can't go to college is because they didn't finish high school basically.

I agree McDonalds shouldn't deserve a rate of $15 an hour, however my Girlfriend is a McDonalds Employee in the UK She is 17. She earns £4.60GBP per hour.

Having seen her working myself, it can be a very hectic job. With lots of running around, and managing multiple tasks within a very short time-span.

It's a job that does require minimal to average Skill. You have to be able to remain calm, deal with multiple orders and problems and and be able to communicate strongly to your team members when under stress or when giving orders.

But to say that working at McDonalds is "barely a job" is utterly ridiculous.

People make their own choices in life and its their fault and they should stop complaining and try to fight to get out of their hell-hole.
