CURRENT iOS 8.1.3 - 8.4 BETA STATUS:
JAILBROKEN



Good day my fellow TTG members, I have noticed that a lot of the stickied threads in this section are actually inactive when it comes to updates so I thought I would spend a bit of time every now and again and providing all the latest Jailbreaking news and information and giving a few personal thoughts on things that j find relevant, so without further or do lets get straight into it.



Now before we start I will provide a bit of background knowledge about myself when it comes to my personal expirence and the history I have had with Jailbreaking, I have been Jailbreaking since iOS 3, my first Jailbroken device was actually the iPhone 1 now that was some time ago!
Currently I own the following devices which are Un/Jailbroken;

    iPhone 6 (Currently unjailbroken befause I got s replacement and I was put straight to iOS 8.3 )
    iPad Air (Jailbroken)
    iPod touch 3rd Gen (Jailbroken)
    iPhone 5s (Jailbroken)
    And you can't forget my trusty iPhone 1 which surprisingly still works

Update x12:

Expect a jailbreak within the next month or so for 8.3, we now have more than said two groups working on future jailbreaks ! Whether it's stated that the new team will release a new jailbreak for iOS 8.3/8.4 or not is unstated, although the future is bright for those iOS users who are stuck on the vanilla iOS firmware.



Update x11:

Pangu, the Chinese jailbreak developers, who have released untethered jailbreak tools for iOS 8-iOS 8.1 and iOS 7.1.x and the first to jailbreak iOS 8, have demoed iOS 8.3 jailbreak at the 2015 Mobile Security Conference (MOSEC), held recently in Shanghai.

Mini update 2

There is no Jailbreak at all! That includes a Semi Jailbreak, a tethered and untethered jailbreak, there is nothing, so do not trust anything!
Once again, make sure you keep updated via this post.




Update x10:

During the week of May 25th May 31st, 2015, a Messages bug became viral that could expedite the creation of a new jailbreak. In essence, Apple will release iOS 8.4 sooner as a remedy for the aforementioned bug and, in turn, so will the next jailbreak. Theres a strong possibility that iOS 8.4 may be release tomorrow, June 1st, 2015 keep your browsers locked to this thread!




Update 9:
On May 11th, Apple issued iOS 8.4 beta 3 to registered iOS Developers. Alternatively, those enrolled in Apples public beta program can now test the firmware as well. It seems as though Apple is starting to wind down development on iOS 8.4, expect a release soon. As for the future, it looks like iOS 9 may be infinitely harder to jailbreak than iOS 8 were likely in for a bumpy ride.




Mini Update 1:

iOS 9 is reported to feature Rootless security. Though it wont be impossible to jailbreak, the process will be much harder (see above video).




Update 8:

While we wait for either TaiG or Pangu to reclaim the helm of the jailbreak community by releasing a new tool to support, and fully function on iOS 8.3, Apple seeded iOS 8.4 beta 2 to registered developers. Like its predecessor, 8.4 beta 2 merely revamps the default music app and remedies some minor complications with it that have persisted throughout the various iOS 8 revisions.




Update 7:

Hacker i0n1c is back at it, this time the quondam contributor to the jailbreak community flaunted the fact that hes achieved a new iOS 8.4 beta 1 jailbreak on his personal iPhone 6 Plus. However, dont get too excited, as i0n1c has pulled similar publicity stunts in the past namely last years Cyberelevat0r troll, in which the hacker released a comparable video demonstrating an iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak before Pangu released their tool. Having said that, both TaiG and Pangu are still actively working on creating new jailbreak utilities for iOS 8.3 and beyond.




Update 6:

In a surprise move, on the 13th of April, Apple seeded the first beta iteration of iOS 8.4 to registered developers. For more details on how iOS 8.4 may or may not impact jailbreak development, we strongly suggest following the link in the previous sentence. That being said, as of now, its unclear whether TaiG or Pangu will once again opt to wait until iOS 8.4 is released prior to issuing what theyve been working on.




Update 5:

On April 8th, 2015, Apple released iOS 8.3 to the general public. Without a new TaiG jailbreak solution for iOS 8.2, the group can now prepare what theyve been working diligently on these past few months to yesterdays new firmware: 8.3. For those of you curious as to whether you should update and the affect doing so would have on your future ability to jailbreak, we advise reading through our recent coverage on iOS 8.3s release.




Update 4:

Following the aforementioned event, Apple seeded iOS 8.3 beta 3 to the public last week, will we receive a jailbreak for 8.2 or instead iOS 8.3? Only time will tell, stay tuned for more updates.




Update 3:

On Monday, March 9th, following Apples Spring Forward event, Apple released iOS 8.2 to the general public. The new firmware includes a number of bug fixes, performance enhancements and, more prominently, adds an Apple Watch app to the iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. For a complete list of changes in iOS 8.2, be sure to navigate to our coverage on the firmware.




Update 2:

As of last week (February 27th), Apple effectively stopped signing iOS 8.2 beta 1 and 2 for registered developers, i.e. the jailbreak outlined above will only act as a solution for those of you already running either beta release. Stay tuned for additional updates concerning the creation of a new iOS 8.2 jailbreak and ensure that you watch the above video for audible representation of these updates.




Update 1:

On February 23rd, 2015, TaiG issued a new jailbreak tool capable of functioning on iOS 8.2 beta 1 and 2. However, the aforementioned tool cannot jailbreak beyond 8.2 beta 2, as it makes use of TaiGs original exploits, which remain unpatched in said beta firmwares.

Very detailed. Good job on putting this thread together. One suggestion I would like to make is to organize it a bit better by putting each "update #" into a spoiler maybe. Try to make it a more condensed thread while still containing all the useful information. I really hope you keep updating!

Well the only major changes to iOS 8.4 is the music app. I would presume the jailbreak will also work with iOS 8.4.

I would also assume they're in the beta program for iOS 8.4 and probably tested their software on it also. Only time will tell, I actually used over the air update from iOS 8.2 to 8.3 and just restored my phone to prepare for the jailbreak coming

Basically there is like a 95% chance that it will be compatible !

This is a nice topic dude! Better than people just asking if there's a jailbreak yet.
