(Before I tell what happened, all I remember was waking up yesterday morning. I don't remember walking to my truck or anything. So anything I know, is based off what people have told me.)

So I was leaving my neighborhood yesterday morning and it had rained early that morning so the roads were already slick. I was speeding (which knowing myself, probably was) and hit a turn and my back tires shot around and I slammed driver's side first into the tree.

I was still in the drivers seat after impact, but the whole entire seat was pushed under the center console. That's how hard I hit the tree. The drivers side door was pushed into my lap basically.

Here is a better picture.

After seeing the truck at the junkyard, I honestly do not understand nor know how I am still here today and still be left with just some bruised bones and a moderate concussion.

I am fully aware of how lucky I am. They had to use jaws of life to pry the passenger side door open because it was jammed also from the impact, but I was able to lift myself up and out the truck with no problems.

Call it crazy, call it god watching over me, call it whatever, but I am extremely lucky to still be here today.

So please, anyone who speeds, (which probably a lot of you guys) think about it. I never thought I'd get into a wreck like this. Slow down a little bit. I could have easily taken someone else life. This can happen to you.

Damn bud, glad to see and hear you're okay. Just shows how dangerous cars really are. When it snowed down here in GA I fishtailed and hit someone head on, thankfully no one was hurt, even though it was pretty bad.

Also glad you're okay so you can keep on saying embarrassing things like this :satisfied:

The same thing has happened to me before, I wasn't speeding though. I just pressed the gas a little too hard after a red light (it had been raining a little while too) and my back tires shot out from the back end and spun me across the road and I slammed into a transfer truck. Thankfully I spun many times and had time to slow down before I hit the transfer truck otherwise I would have been completely crushed.

I'm glad to know you're okay though, it's scary when your life flashes right before your eyes.

In all seriousness, you are one lucky dude, drivers side is the worst it could have been and you managed to get out yourself.

Glad you're okay bud, the reason why you walked away without much harm is that you were most likely wearing your seatbelt. Glad you're injuries were very minor compared to what they could have been

They said I didn't have my seat belt on because it was locked and jammed at the very top. If I had it on it would have been dangling down beside my waist.

Damn, this is crazy. Its insane how much we take life for granted. Things like speeding are commonly done and put so many people in unnecessary danger.
I'm glad you're here to make this post bud, hope you feel well, hope your insurance doesn't skyrocket.

Wow, hope you okay! That's one hell of a crash.

A tree is probably the worst thing to hit. It just won't move....

Truck's beyond a right off I guess. Wow. Hope you were insured too!
