Synopsis
FIFA Football 2003, known as FIFA Soccer 2003 in North America, is an association football video game produced by Electronic Arts and released by EA Sports. It was released in October 2002.
FIFA 2003 is the tenth game in the FIFA series and the seventh to be produced in 3D. A number of new features were added to improve upon the previous version. Club Championship Mode was introduced with the feature of playing against 17 of Europe's top clubs in their own stadiums and the fans singing their unique chants and songs. A TV-style broadcast package gives highlights at half-time and full-time, as well as comprehensive analysis. One of the most anticipated new features was EA Sport's "Freestyle Control" which allows the user to flick the ball on and lay it off to team mates. Other additions include greater likenesses of some of the more well-known players such as Thierry Henry and Ronaldinho, as well as realistic player responses.

Gameplay
Note: (This game is very old but I'm a huge fan of the FIFA series and really wanted to review my favourite one!)
The gameplay will be very dated now but at the time it was incredibly advanced and was the best football game on the market. The gameplay was a great improvement from its predecessors, most notably the freestyle control which let you lay the ball off to team mates with a flick of the ball. This fast paced passing made the possession, fast play, tiki taka football which we all love to play become a reality for the first time on a game. The passing was smooth and does not feel clunky like previous games. They have added a number of player licences, stadiums and chants to immerse you more in the gameplay. The new and improved freekick style is excellent and you have more control over where the ball goes and things like spin etc. I still occasionally like to wipe the dust of the PS2 and have a quick blast on this game with friends. I also forgot to mention this game has an incredible soundtrack that really gets you in the mood to play.

Graphics
The graphics on this game are dated now but at the time they were superb and the detail on the player faces was incredible especially the more well known players. The crowd left something to be desired but this has been the same up until FIFA 14 on next gen consoles. The pitch is very nice colour wise and vibrant, the menus look really good and the action replays and close ups look detailed and good. Overall they are very good just don't expect them to blow you away because they are over 10 years old.
