Hello, so I hear and see that a lot of people are having problems with FPS, well I have found some FPS fixes for this game that boosted my FPS about 30+ FPS in major towns like Electro and about 50+ Out of towns.

One way for Nvidia card users is to:

1: Right Click on your desktop
2: Go to "Manage 3D settings"
4: Go to "program settings"
5: Click DayZ.exe (If it isn't there, press add game and look for it and add it)
6: Scroll down until you see "Power Management Mode" and change it to "Prefer Maximum Performance"

A
nother way for all cards and CPUs is to:

1: Go to your Steam Library and right click on DayZ
2: Go to Properties, then "Set launch options" under the General tab.
3: Add these commands depending on your CPU and RAM

-nosplash removes the Bohemia Interactive splash page.

-noPause gets you into the game faster.

-cpuCount=8 set this to how many cores your CPU has.

-maxMem=8192 set this to the total amount of RAM your system has, 2048 for 2GB, 4096 for 4GB

-exThreads=4
The command line looks like this: -nosplash -noPause -cpuCount=8 -maxMem=8192 -exThreads=4

Once you have done that, you want to go to:
C:\Users\yourname\Documents\DayZ\DayZ.cfg
Open that up in Notepad or Notepad++ (Anything that can edit lines is fine)

Now look for these and change them to the following:
GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;
GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;
Make sure you put the quotes around the numbers otherwise DayZ wont apply changes.

After you have done that, in this folder C:\Users\yourname\Documents\DayZ
You are going to want to right click and edit your profile. (Should look around the lines of "profilename.DayZProfile"

Then you can change these to help with FPS and mouse Acceleration

mouseSmoothing=0 - This should help sort out mouse acceleration

sceneComplexity=150000 - This number affects your object details.

shadowZDistance=100 - This is the distance at which shadows are drawn.

viewDistance=1600 This number affects the distance view (trees, grass etc).

preferredObjectViewDistance=1000 - This number affects the distance in meters that the objects will be drawn.

I have had the Nvidia control panel setting on for a while and quite frankly it hasn't made a noticeable difference at all. I am running on a 780 and the performance is still edgy, I expect this though because I have been playing the game for around 2-3 years so I expected the poor optimisation to carry over from the mod.

We just have to wait until the game slowly gets optimised.

Yah, I kind of expected that to happen.
