Synopsis
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is a third-person shooter video game developed and published by Capcom for Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 3. The game was released in Japan in December 2006 and worldwide in January 2007, it was originally intended to be an Xbox 360 exclusive but it was later ported and released for Microsoft Windows in June 2007 and PlayStation 3 in February 2008.

Gameplay
This game is what began the shooters for me and my brothers. You are playing in a third person and a first person perspective in the game. It can be switched out whenever the player decides he wants to. Players can either travel on foot on the scary snowy land or travel in big robot machines. The robots are called Vital Suits, they carry a rocket launchers and chain guns so your pretty much invincible. The suits can pick up weapons if you end up running out of ammo in both of your weapons. On the foot you have to play much more tactically instead of going out in the big suit. The player on foot has some gadgets with him that can make it easier for the player to get cover or end up screwing the player over and getting shot up. One of these gadgets is a grappling hook, this can be used to get up onto high ledges or buildings. You can also use this to hook onto a Vital suit and hijack the suit. There is two modes to play on this campaign and multiplayer. The single player is really fun and is what made the game for me, one thing in campaign is if your running around temperatures can decrease and end up killing you. In multiplayer up to 16 players can play up into one match. There is four modes to play in total, each of them are different and really fun to play.

Plot
The game starts out as the main character is taking on a mission trying to kill the green eye. Wayne, the person your playing as, gets split up with his squad and starts killing the things by himself. You then see your father vital suit blow up and you are abandoned there for 30 years. Wayne wakes up after being frozen solid and remembers none of his past life what has happened. Then you meet this Yuri guy. You then join his army helping them trying to take out the Akrid. All of the sudden you meet another guy named Basil and he tells you that Yuri has killed his wife and is seeking vengeance. Then Wayne and his squad then figure out where the green eye's location is. They end up killing the green eye and Wayne begins to remember what has happened in the pass. You begin to fight your way through the war and end up finding a whole bunch of cliff hangers and having the privilege to kill these akrids. Im definitely not going to spoil this campaign because it was too fun.

Graphics
At the time the graphics of this 2006 shooter was absolutely amazing. The environment was the main focus of this game and you could tell. The snow has a nice little look to it and the texture is really well. Your character when he breathes it brings out the little mist form your mouth and looks like real life. One more thing about the environment is that when your walking around its most likely always windy, well the snow is blowing every where in your face and just you cant see straight some times. One thing about this game that I didnt like was the characters. They didnt make it feel like the characters were wll put into on the cut scenes. They just looked all around bad to me. But when your playing it looks fantastic, your player looks like hes running around and is actually there in the scenario. The monsters were another thing, they had a orange glow to them in some spots and there huge. They look scary like there about to chop you up and kill you. When your shooting at anything you can see a perfect flash and it has a nice sound to it. Another thing I didnt enjoy was the cross hair movement. You can move it around any where its just that it got hard to get used to. I really enjoyed the graphics of this game, it made me feel as if I were there.

Controls
The controls of this game are similar to what kind of controls we use today. There is slight differences but its not a big deal. Joysticks are to move and look around, RT is to shoot things, A to jump. Those are similar to the things today right well here are the things that we dont regularly see. Y is to pick up weapons, LT to throw a grenade, and X to anchor onto things. It takes a little time to get used to these controls but its alright after you play it. A flaw with the controls is that B has way to much controls. B does all of the following; Pick Up, Enter, Activate, Attach, Remove, Action, Melee Attack. If the makers were to spread out the controls throughout the controller then I feel like it would make the game better so a player doesnt get confused or has to always press B to do things. I really enjoyed the controls of this game although it takes some time to get used to.
