Synopsis

A young player riding a bus on his way to hollywood for unmentioned reasons is hit by skateboarders as he exits the bus. Meeting up with local skaters he is taught the ropes on how to skate and later stumbles upon the kids who stole his stuff upon being hit. His new friend mindy turns out to be a talented artist who has a dream of an "american wasteland" a skaters paradise. Constantly out on the hunt for new things to add to your new skatepark you will find yourself in extreme positions.

Story

The story was well thought out in this one. Fighting against others for attempting to create your dream park and protect it from outsiders is far from easy. The story is fairly long with alot of dramatic scenes. With things constantly changing you are never allowed to relax where at one point your skatepark is closed down and taken from you.

Gameplay

The first Tony Hawk game without loading screens you are easily allowed to skate through the entire map. Spray painting is also introduced in american wasteland allowing you to fully customize your tag. Bmx bikes are also introduced in american wasteland with just as much apart of the game as skateboards. Your also able to shimmy up walls, back flip and grapple across telephone wires.

Mission Structure

Nearly every mission is over the top and kept alive. Always doing something different you will never get bored some missions you are battling it out in bombing the walls with your spray can and others you are gathering together parts for your new park. Alot of thought was put into these missions/objectives and will constantly have you running around with never really taking it easy.

Graphics

With the time this game was released the graphics were really good and even today are still better then some other games out. Basic detailing were done to the point where its enough but you wont be dissapointed. The detail in clothing is a huge plus as they have quite a selection to choose from.

Overall rating 8/10

I havent played this game in a while but when i did i had alot of fun. if your a fan of tony hawk and have yet to pick this up i suggest you do id imagine you can get it for around 10$ now. The only dissapointment is there isnt much to do after you beat the game other then explore.
