Synopsis

There is not really one for the sims 3. In this game you can do anything and be anything therefore making your own story as you go along, you could be a married police officer with 2 kids or a single computer hacker that has no interest in girls, it is your choice! The game includes an optional feature called "Story Progression", which allows all Sims in the neighborhood to autonomously continue as if the player were controlling them, such as grow up, get married, get jobs and promotions, have children, build or buy their dream house while the player isn't playing

Gameplay

In this game the player will controll there own sim where they will undertake a variety of activities just like you do in everyday life, this includes going to the bathroom, watching some TV and going to work or school. I found that the sim interaction in this game was fun but at the same time a little frustrating with one of the two sims always bieng hungry or tired during the conversation. The goal system in this game really gives you something to play for.. knowing that your sims dream is to become the CEO of a mega corporation will really push you to do it. The thing that frustrated me with this game is that you could not let your sims stay on free will.

When the sims are on free will they will do just about nothing productive, they will do the basics like eat and sleep but you will find out that 75% of the time they will stand in one place and just whine. an easy fix for this is to turn free will off.

Customisation

This is one of the best features in the sims3. You can customise just about anything. To start you can customise your sims looks with things including a wide variety of clothes, facial shapes and hair including colours, these are only 3 little aspects of customising your sims appearence. You can change what your sim likes and what his life goals are.. is your sim a computer nerd who wants to be a professional athlete or a door-to-door salesman who wants to be CEO of a mega corporation, the possibilities are enless.

Going further into customisation you can build your house from the ground, you can have multiple stories, garages, water pits. Basicly whatever you want. You dont have to build your house of course you could always just buy a pre-made one. Once you are done with the building you can fill your garages with cars and your house with furniture (if you can afford it).

Multiplayer

While this game does not have a multiplayer aspect it does have an online community where you can share your house, videos, screenshots and a whole lot more! not to mention you can download a variety of new furniture desighnes. some are free and some cost actuall money. I would not be suprised and most likely very happy if there is some sort of online modification released for this game.

Difficulty

This also comes into the factor of customisation, it is only as hard as you want it to be. You can edit your sims lifespan, ammount of familly members ect. The main key for difficulty in this game is that the more familly members that you get the harder the game becomes (controlling 1 sim is easier than controlling 4).along with that there are many other ways to increase your difficulty but you will find that out yourself if you end up buying the game.

Final comments

I have been a bery big fan of the sims franchise since i was about 7 years old and i liked this game. In some aspects the game fell short of my expectations but overall it was a good game with appealing things like almost endless customisation and building your own life the way you want to do it and not following a specific story line. What brought this game down was the stupidity of the sims on free will and the lag that i experienced on the PC version of the game. (i fixed it)

Overall: 6.5/10

I remember when i first got this game a week after it came out for $20AUD (brought it from another country of ebay) bieng a sims fan i really liked this game and i encourage that if you are into simulation games and are out of game ideas buy sims 3 it is only like $20 in store for PC now
