Hi , I have been seeing allot of topics about people wondering why they have been banned of xbox live.

I have decided to explain how you can get banned and why.

The main one recently is "marketplace theft" , this is when you have something of the marketplace with out paying for it , there are many ways to be banned for this i will just name a thew Number one: licence transfer , licence transfer is when you are suppost to of gotten a new profile or xbox and are transfering your old games and downloads onto your new account or xbox. Why you get banned for this is if you have not actualy bought a new xbox or account but have just used your freinds account to get there downloads.

Another way to get banned for marketplace theft is downloading a modded profile to get a downloadable game , dlc or arcade game onto your xbox without paying for it , you get banned for this because you have not actualy purchased the game but have it and that is theft.

Another way to get banned for marketplace theft is by doing the xbox rewards glitch , this glitch was only out for a few days it was a random bug where if you bought an offer that gave you about 500 microsoft points when you renewed your xbox live , but instead you would recive about 15000+. however you did not get banned for doing this but only if you spent them you get banned because this is theft accident or not.

Another way to get banned is "modifieing your xbox/profile" this is when you either take apart your xbox and modifie it by flashing it or jtaging it and to get your profile banned you do things like modifing your avatar this is when you take out your hardrive and purposely modifie it to make it coulorful.

another way to get banned for modifieing you xbox/profile is by modding your gamerscore this is when you purposely take your hardrive and hack your gamerscore to unlock unearned achive ments , you get banned for this as it is cheating since you have not actualy unlocked them.

another way to get banned for modifieing your xbox/profile is by using a modded gamesave/gpd this is when you use someone elses save or gpd to either unlock levels on games or use a modified one that will give you things your not supposed to have e.g no clip or super speed.

Another thing you can be banned for is trying to steal other's details
this is when you either ask someone for there email and password or try to hack there account by recovering it. you get banned for this as it is not your account and also some account have bank details in witch is another reason that you get so seariously punished.

Ways this can be done is by phishing site or just plain knowing/ getting there passwords , a phishing site is a site that it will say something like free msp sign in here but when you do they will retrive your account details. you are banned as this is illegal and stealing players info.

You can also be banned of xbox live for Inapropriate/sexual content an example of this is having sexual content as your bio or motto , you get banned for this as anyone can view your profile it doesnt matter hot old you are because little kids can look at your profile.

Another way to get banned for inapropriate/sexual content is by your gamerpicture if you have an inapropriate or sexual gamerpicture you can be banned because you will of modded to get it and also a little kid could see it.

Another way to get banned for inapropriate/sexual content is to use it in chat by saying it to people you get banned for this because it could be offensive to some people and anyone can hear you.

Also i have some FAQ's.

"How can i try to apeal a ban?"

you can do this by calling up microsoft support it is not a very succesfull way but it does work from time to time , you need to make something up or denie it.

"Is there a way to unban my profile?"

This is how to unban your Xbox live account it takes up to 3 days to complete but its
worth it to get your account unbanned this is only for when its banned for life

"Why have I been banned?"

You will of been banned because of vilotating the code of conduct (more info above)

If you have anything to just reply.

Depending on the feedback i may add more tommorow.

I was recently banned for Market theft for what I think was license transferring. But I talked to a "Xpert" on the Ask an Xbox Community Xpert. They told me you cannot be banned for License transferring, but then again they don't work for Microsoft so... Im awaiting for a response about my ban on the site.
**EDIT** also does that vid at the end still work?

First, very informative post, but only three of many ways to be suspended.

To you my friend, if you license transfer to a console with a different IP and console ID it is detected as market place theft. This is what happened to you.

Microsoft also states bans will not be discussed.

The video has not worked since TU6.

Hope this clears up some issues.

What Blaine says...

First, calling support does NOTHING for unbanning your account. They are just billing and hardware techs and cant help you with a TOU ban, they cant even tell that you ARE banned.

Second, your video was made before most of these people were born, its THAT old. That trick was patched before I was out of diapers.

Also, dont forget the fact that if they temp ban you 3 times, the 4th is permabanned, doesnt matter what the reason is. It used to be that they temp banned you over and over but they dont do that anymore.

I really wish we could collectively punch people in the face who still think the "temp ban replaces a permanent ban" thing still works.

DOES...NOT...WORK! Hasn't worked in ages!
