Someone requested I make a money making guide, and since I'm a member I don't know much about how to make money when your a free player. While I was making the money making part of this, I decided that people might need to know how to level up as some of these money making methods require you to be able to kill things. So this is a money making and leveling guide. All pictures were took by me. I'm sorry if some things are miss-typed or some info is in-accurate. If you find something wrong with this post then please tell me and I will fix it asap. Don't think that what you see is the finished post. I will be updating this when I find more methods.

We will start with the money making part, because you may need money to get your gear.

Clay - Lvl 1 Mining
The first thing I would recommend if you want to make money right away and get some armor or a good weapon is mining clay and turning it into soft clay. Clay is located at Rimmington. Red = How to get there. Blue = The water that you use to make the soft clay. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

You need a bucket to get the water out of the well, but don't worry you don't need to go to the bank and get some money. You can mine 2 clay and sell it to the store for 1 gp each and buy a bucket for 2gp. Red = Where to go to get the bucket.

But wait! You don't have a pickaxe? No problem! Theres a Bronze Pickaxe laying on a table near by! Go to the house directly accross from the store and you will see one on a table.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Now that you have your bucket and pickaxe you can start making money! Just mine the clay then go fill your bucket with water and use it on the clay to make the soft clay. Soft clay is mostly worth more than clay, so this is how you make the money.

After you get a full inventory of soft clay, go bank the soft clay and go back and mine more, or go sell it at the Grand Exchange!

Iron - Lvl 15 Mining
So you mined some clay and and got your mining to 15? Good for you! Now you can mine iron! Head on over to Falador if you feel up to it. Go to the North-East corner of Falador and go down the stairs. Red = How to get to the mine. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
So you went down the stairs, and you wonder what is that rock with poo colored blobs in it?
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Well my friend, thats iron! You can mine iron and sell it or bank it and repeat.

Coal and Mithril - Lvl 60 Mining
If you somehow have 65 Mining, you can go to the Mining Guild! You should mine Coal and Mithril as thats all that's in there! Once you have a full inventory you should go bank it and repeat or go to the Grand Exchange and sell it! Red = How to get to the Mining Guild.

Trees - Lvl 1 Woodcutting
If your the type of person that doesn't like mining then you can always cut down trees! When you first get to Lumbridge you should have a hatchet already, but if you don't have one for some reason you can stop on over at Bob's Axe shop and get a free Bronze Hatchet or you can buy a better one like iron.

Just talk to this guy:

Now that you have a hatchet let's go cut down some trees!
We will start off with cutting down normal trees. These are located behind Lumbridge Castle. (and all over Runescape) Red = How to get to the trees.

Oak Trees - Lvl 15 Woodcutting
Now that you know how to cut down trees, (and have 15 Woodcutting) it's time to move onto Oak trees! These trees are rarely in groups like normal trees are. I have found a spot where some Oak trees are. You can find these trees in front of a jail by Rimmington:

Willow Trees - Lvl 30 Woodcutting
From there you will go onto Willow Trees! Willow trees are located not to far from the Oak trees.

I recommend cutting these down to get money, but there is one more method. Yews!

Yew Trees - Lvl 60 Woodcutting
Yews are the most expensive logs in free worlds. So your probably thinking: "why don't I just cut these down and make money from them?" Well to answer your question, you probably can't. The reason for this is that Yew trees are usually packed with people, but I'll tell you where 2 trees are that are close together. They are located in Edgeville. They are usually packed so I don't recommend cutting them down. Red = How to get to the Yew trees.

Leveling

Cows - Lvl 2
After you have some money and bought your gear, you're probably thinking "I want to go kill Elvarg!" Well I don't think you should try that just yet, but you can kill cows! Killing cows is a great way to start leveling up. Heres how you can get to them. Red = How to get to the cows.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
The cows also drop cowhide and Raw beef which you can cook and use for food when fighting those deadly cows.

Goblins - Lvl 2
Of course if you don't like killing poor cows, you can kill those devious goblins that are always making trouble.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
The Goblins are located right beside the bridge and the cows.

Barbarians - Lvl 9-17
So you've killed those deadly cows, and you've slaughtered those devious goblins. What can't you kill? Actually theres a lot of things you can't kill. But if you continue to be a killing machine then you will be able to kill everything in no time! If you don't die along the way...

Next you want to move on to killing the crazy Barbarians! These guys are very determined to kill you, so you want to kill them before they kill you! Barabarians are located between Falador and Varrock right under Edgeville.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
These Barbarians are fierce and will stop at nothing to kill you.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
While you were killing those savages you might have noticed that theres a building in the northern part of the village.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
In this building there are higher level barbarians. If you feel like a challenge then go try kill some of them. Watch out for Haakon the Champion. If you challenge him he will not stop until one of you is dead.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Guards and White Knights - Lvl 19-21 and 38-42
So you've fought Barbarians, eh? You might of even challenged Haakon! and died... Your a lean mean killing machine, now your onto your next task. Guards.

Guards are located in each major city. This includes Varrock and Falador. You will be fighting in Falador. The reason for this is that there are White Knights in Falador. That is your next task. Where I'm standing is where the White Knights are located.Blue = Where the Guards are at. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
After you've killed some guards and feel like killing some knights head on over to White Knight Castle. Here you will see many Knights who are, you guessed it! White!

Spiders and Cockroach Workers - Lvl 50 and 56
After killing those knights, you should move on over to the Stronghold of player security, or the Stronghold of Security. You have 2 options.

1. Killing spiders at the Stronghold of Security on the third level. This is a fast experience method, but is not recommended because it is usually crowded.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

2. Killing Cockroach Workers at the Stronghold of player security. This is a good method also and is recommended because it is not usually crowded.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Ankou and Cockroaches - Lvl 86 and 83
After you are done killing those nasty spiders and cockroach workers, you have two options to level up to whatever level you feel like getting to. Luckily both of these methods are really close to the Spiders and Cockroach workers.

Option 1. Killing Cockroaches in the Stronghold of player security. This is the option I recommend because you can get good money killing these. These drop some rune items like rune scimitars, and square shields.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Option 2. Killing Ankou in the Stronghold of Security. This seems to be a faster way to level up, but does not make you as much money as the Cockroaches.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Here is how to get to them both. Luckily they are both right next to eachother. Red = How to get to the Ankou. (and the cockroaches) Blue = The entrance to the Stronghold of player security. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

This was originally made without the spoilers, but I thought it would be more organized with the spoilers, so if I messed up with something please tell me and I'll fix it

I really hope I helped everyone out. If you have any questions please ask me, and I will do my best to answer it. If you have any suggestions on what I should put in this post then please tell me. This took 8 Hours to make, so please thank the topic if it helped you. All pictures were taken by me on my account, and nothing was copied or pasted.
