Alma is expecting and a new level of terror grows as you and your cannibal brother battle through a hellish nightmare. Fight together or die alone on a deadly mission to confront Alma and discover if blood runs deeper than F.E.A.R. Players can take on the role of Point Man, a genetically enhanced soldier with superhuman reflexes and the ability to manipulate time, or the undead spirit of his brother Paxton Fettel, a paranormal entity who possesses incredible psychic powers.

Personal thoughts on the single player

So where to begin, if you have ever played Fear 2 project origins or any of the installments of the fear series then you should know that this is a very gory and at times frightening game. Personally I can't say I have found a game like this. With a FPS that goes from taking down enemy soldiers one moment to fun house mirror nightmare illusions the next this game keeps on on edge and constantly looking out the corner of your eye looking for enemies and the occasional flicker of a shadow.

Personal thoughts on the Co-op

I feel that fear 3 looses a lot of the fear or shock element when you have a buddy playing with you. While the story fully supports another person, it just seems like a lot of the feel or element that the developers tried really hard to set up is gone. That aside, it's fun. IF you can look past the fact that having another person makes thing easier and less of a thrill then I would suggest it.

Personal thoughts on the Multi player

From fear 2 Day 1 Studios (the developer's behind FEAR 3) scrapped the system that Monolith Productions, Inc. (The developer's behind FEAR 2: Project origins) and made a whole new system. Those who felt that fear 2 was a call of duty knock off will rejoice to know that it is brand new with 4 multiplayer modes that tend to be more CO-OP then they do P.V.P.
The new modes information courtesy of wikipedia:
wikipedia wrote The four game modes are "**** Run" "Contractions" "Soul Survivor" and "Soul King". "**** Run" features 4 players running through waves of enemies, all the while running from Alma's massive "Wall of Death." The players start off in a safe room and proceed through levels, killing enemies within a certain amount of time. [7] There are several safe rooms throughout the mode, and if a player is downed, one of the co-op players can revive them. If one player is killed the game is over. "Contractions" is a survival round-based game mode where you must barricade and stock up weapons against 20 waves of enemies from the F.E.A.R. 3 single player, similar to Call of Duty's "Nazi Zombies," although the farther you increase through the waves the tougher it gets by adding a fog effect that creeps closer and closer making the map much more dangerous. "Soul Survivor" has four players pitted against each other with one player playing as a "Spectre" in which he or she has to possess enemies to kill the other three players and turn them into Spectres before the time runs out. "Soul King" is similar to Soul Survivor but with the exception that all the players play as Spectres and must possess enemies to kill each other and collect dropped souls. Teamwork and cooperation is needed for players to win in the game modes.

Final thoughts

7/10

This is a great game with an awesome multiplayer, however there are a few things that you need to be able to look over or ignore completely to like this game. With almost a week gone by since release date very few people play multiplayer and within a few weeks I see games hard to start. The CO-OP isn't challenging when you have help, the story seems to be generated around one player, even if there is more than one. All in all, I would say rent this game. Don't buy this unless you are a fan of the series or money is not an issue.
