Looking to buy a bmw 1 series 1.6 petrol or 2 litre diesel, which one would be faster and more efficient, i want it for general driving around and i want to put bigger intercooler bigger injecters and a fmic kit with a remap and get it to 200+bhp 400ft lb of tourqe, my insurance on a 1,6 is 2350 and on a 2 litre its 2800 since i got banned when i was 18.

Feel for fuel efficiency the 2 liter diesel would be better. Easy to pull power from as well!

Well it's according if you mine paying the extra price for the diesel. But the diesel would definitely be more efficient.

I would go with diesel, more mpg and usually less at the pump. Plus your engine will last alot longer.

The diesel will be smoother to drive most probably. The Germans sure know how to make a smooth diesel, even VW
