So I've done quite a few of these, but I feel like this is my best one. All constructive criticism is welcomed. If you like these I have a few more I can post.

It looks like you just used image trace in illustrator.

I used Adobe Illustrator. Although I've used Photoshop to make a similar effect, it's definitely not the program to be used lol.

Well I used illustrator, but I'm not too versed in it. I'm not exactly sure what the image trace feature is. Care to ellaborate?

I've been using Ai for a long time and he definitely has not used image trace, I can tell right of the bat.

In what ways exactly? I could go back and try and give it a more complete look, but I don't want to lose the simplicity, because when I try and get too detailed my work usually goes to shit lol.

the same result can be achieved with the pen tool.
