Battlefield Remasters Not Coming Anytime Soon

While remasters are becoming a way of life in the video game industry, it doesn’t appear Electronic Arts is joining the party with any kind of gusto. Despite the fact that we’re finally getting a Call of Duty remaster, EA doesn’t appear to be following suit with Battlefield remasters.

EA’s Patrick Sunderland recently talked about his company’s plans when it comes to remasters, especially for Battlefield, to IBT saying, “I wouldn’t say never. We’re not doing it right now, we’re focused on Battlefield 1 – but if we think the fans want that I see no reason we couldn’t.”

Considering EA is already sort of rebooting it’s entire Battlefield franchise, there doesn’t appear to be a need for a remaster. Considering they’ve actually named this Battlefield 1, it seems they might go down the road of remasters, by putting out new games set in or around the time where some of their more popular earlier games were set.

Remasters arent really a thing they need to worry about, they dont continually let down their players, they make games for the players.

Honestly, in my opinion, I feel that Battlefield is a game that doesn't need to be stressed for remastered editions. They're titles always hold up to great quality so the need for a remaster seems unnecessary. Backwards compatibility? I'm all for that

I loved bf3 but personally don't want a remaster for any of them. Battlefield and forza are my favorite games that were also on the old gen, and the more I think about remasters I wouldn't want one for any forza game either because the new ones are getting better, not by much sometimes but they definitely are (except hardline, that game looked like a mistake in the beta).

Cod though, well I don't have to explain why we want remasters. Everyone knows why, some just have stronger viewpoints. but in general, I would only want remasters or BC if the newer games suck ass

I agree. In a few years, perhaps when new consoles come out it'll be good. Enough of this remastered shit now though. Just keep giving us new games.

Battlefield sticks to giving people what they like, personally i would'nt see a need for a remaster maybe some years down the line yes but Call of Duty on the other hand has just ruined itself, really needs a remaster to get people playing again

Don't see any reason for them too honestly. Although I would like to see Battlefield 1943 on the One/PS4. That game was fun as hell.
