Call of Duty 2016 Confirmed In Development By Infinity Ward

Call of Duty 2016 has been confirmed to be in development by Infinity Ward, the developers of Call of Duty Ghosts that was released in 2013 during the launch of PS4 and Xbox One. We still don’t know whether their new game is COD: Ghosts 2, COD: Advanced Warfare 2 or a sequel to an older Call of Duty like Modern Warfare. Call of Duty Ghosts was the weakest entry in the series. It was developed by Infinity Ward and released in 2013 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Wii U. It was riddled with bugs at launch and also faced harsh criticism over its multiplayer and single player content.

The next Call of Duty was from Sledgehammer Games who released a brand new entry in the Call of Duty series called Advanced Warfare. It was released in 2014 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. The game was an improvement over Ghosts in almost every way.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the latest release from Treyarch Studios and Infinity Ward are again looking to be the developers of the next Call of Duty. Among the potential sequels, they can either develop a sequel to Ghosts, Advanced Warfare or go back and work on Modern Warfare 4. Hopefully we will know more about the next Call of Duty as we get closer to E3 2016.

Please be Modern Warfare 4, and not Ghosts 2. I would even prefer a new Call of Duty over Ghosts 2.

I think you're mistaken, call of duty development is shared between infinity ward, Activision and sledgehammer. This article wasn't just telling you that a new cod was coming out but telling you which company is developing it.

Advanced Warfare 2? When were they allowed to make that? That is next year's possibility with Sledgehammer. The story of Ghosts suggests Ghosts 2. Seeing how it didn't do so well, I wouldn't be surprised if they either drop it or change it quite a bit. It will be interesting to see how they go about it. Do they stay with the exo theme of the last two? Do they go back to the original way to move? Do they do something different? Maybe instead of exos, they make it where parkour is the way to get around. Would be odd, but I can see it happening.
