Fallout 4’s End User Licence Agreement Says All Mods Must Be Free

4.4
Fallout 4’s End User Licence Agreement states that all mods must be distributed for free.

Bethesda already tried the paid mods option with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and they were the first developer to take advantage of this in Valve’s Steam. It didn’t go well and they had to close it within a week, but now, they are doing the good thing from the start.

I know a ton of modders (not the mw3 recovery mods) but the mods that actually change the game for the better or cooler. They don't charge which is nice but the tools they use charges them and they rely on donations which are iffy. I don't see why the developers cannot charge? Basic mod = basic money ($1-5$) super high tech mod should be able to bring in better money.Add videos & pictures with a detailed description to boost sales.

Mickers I do kinda disagree with this. If developers are putting time into mods i think donations should be allowed.

donations are fine but you can't sell the mod. I don't think any mod developers should be looking to get paid to make mods for a game.

They can distribute the mods for free but doesn't say anything about donating afterwards if you like the mod...

So pumped but I do agree with others maybe allow donations to the developers who put their own time into making the mods. Very pumped for this release to bad I missed out on the pip-boy edition.

-Deano I'm glad they are enforcing this.

I have nothing against paid mods, the creator should be allowed to charge to use their content if they see it that way.
The original paid mods problem didn't end up well considering many of the 'already-free' mods wanted to switch to being paid for.

I think they should still allow donations to the creator for taking up their time to add content to the game.

Yeah donations should be aloud I think as well

I don't think the whole paid mods thing is going to happen again.

Good I think they learned from that whole paid skyrim mods fiasco. I have no problem with donating to good mod developers, but to outright have them cost money with no guarantee that they'll work with other mods or updates to them game doesn't sit right with me.
