Microsoft unveils the Surface Book

4.6
Microsoft has announced the Surface Book, its first laptop, during the ongoing Windows 10 devices event. It promises huge performance enhancements, a 13.5-inch 267 ppi display screen and a 12 hour battery life.

The Surface Book with a 13.5 inch screen was made official by the company after the Surface Pro 4. It comes with a GeForce GPU which features GDDR5 RAM, 6th generation Intel Core processors. Similar to the Surface Pro 4, the Book also features 16 GB of RAM and comes with storage options upto 1 TB. Microsoft calls it the most powerful laptop in its class though exact specs haven't been disclosed. Compared to the MacBook Pro the computer pumps out twice the performance while also being the thinnest laptop at 7.7 mm.

As with other Surface products, the keyboard on the Surface Book is detachable and reversible as well, making it a very portable device. Microsoft has revealed that it has tried to push its hardware division's capability to the limit with the Surface Book as the company has put desktop class graphics and performance into a thin package.

Surface Book will be up for pre-order starting October 7 and will start shipping from October 26 with prices starting at $1499.

JoyfulMods Wow the surface book seems pretty damn awesome , can't wait to look at reviews.

Everyone can argue on the fact Surface is so expensive, Mac is way better, But what you guys don't realize is the Surface is a tablet not a laptop. So for a tablet to out power a laptop, Thats pretty sad,The real comparison would need to be between the Microsoft Book and the MacBook as the Surface book is actually being marketed as a laptop, So to all you Apple fanatics, Come see me when Apple comes out with a tablet that runs more than a damn IOS.

Pro Just an apple rip off, Microsoft over Apple anyday though when it comes to computers and laptops.

Just to let you know it's not a rip off... Apple got the idea from Microsoft because the original laptop that they made never came out of the drawing board, but the design got leaked, it's good to research before claiming it's a ripoff.

Plus what you are saying is highly false... The only good about mac is that its as simply as can be is for people with low brain compacity or for people that want to be graphic designers...ect Window computer are a lot more interchangeable and have easy 5x the power of a mac.

I have a windows PC. Windows has no comparison to how sleek Apples OS is

slapshot101 Honestly it looks horrible to me, ascetically speaking it looks really bad in my opinion and I know I shouldn't compare it to the MacBook but it looks fairly similar but no where near as sleek and the whole Dynamic Fulcrum Hinge looks really bad. I have never been a fan of these types of computers that split apart to become a tablet and such, I either want a table or a computer, not in one package. And I don't see how it has 2x the performance of a MacBook Pro. MacBook Pro's offer 16GB of Memory and 1TB of storage.

Its aiming more for designers or digital artists. In that sense they did really well

It's not very hard to outdo apple on anything.
