Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 to support dedicated servers

4.6
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will feature a very intuitive lobby system and dedicated server support for all of its online modes.

The upcoming revival of the Pro Skater series looks to be taking advantage of the power and connectivity available in the new consoles. The game’s developer Robomodo revealed today that all online game sessions are hosted on dedicated servers.

Freeskate levels are the game’s version of lobbies. It’s a place where up to 20 players can hang out and skate while waiting for a game to start. It’s also where everyone will return between sessions.

In addition, PlayStation versions of the game will get some exclusive content, in the form of three character heads. The blog also revealed that the online features will only be available on new-gen versions, as the older versions won’t even support online play.

_Skittle What do you actually do in multiplayer? How do you compete with people?

If they keep the same game modes from previous THPS, then horse, paint, free skate, and I'm sure there's more modes.

Mickers
Activez- This looks fun but honestly it's not worth the $60 price tag.

Why isn't it dude? Explain.

It doesn't have a whole lot to offer. Gameplay would definitely become stain after a few weeks. Even with custom parks. There's only so much you can do. I'd say that it's worth $40.

20 skaters in one session I guess could use dedicated servers but I really think its absolutely necessary.

Harem I remember playing tony hawk on ps2 was a great game! hopefully they do bring it back o3o

If this doesn't scream, "im just posting garbage so I can get a virtual badge on my profile LOL", then I don't know what does.

Anyway, I hope the PC version of this will allow mods for the dedicated servers. As in, actual user-created third party mods. If not, then I won't be wasting $60 on this unfortunately.
