Frontier Developments reveals Planet Coaster at E3

David Braben is breathing new life into a classic concept.

Frontier Developments CEO David Braben dropped by the E3 PC gaming event to announce Planet Coaster, a much more lighthearted-looking title than the studio’s main powerhouse, the Elite series. The reveal trailer shows a bearded hipster hanging out in a field looking typically bored until a theme park begins to build itself around him. Braben described the project as “the revival of a genre”, and with Frontier’s serious simulation chops, there’s no doubt it’s the right studio for the job. Planet Coaster is coming to PC in 2016.

As weird as it feels saying this, this game looks like a legitimate good time. A nice break from the stress of COD and other games. Definitely something I'll be picking up.

Sanctyy That trailer was pretty funny. Is this sort of similar to like roller-coaster tycoon style games? If so, I'm in. Always loved those games. This looks pretty awesome too in all honesty.

I agree, these games can be surprisingly quite fun to play. I remember playing all of the old rollercoaster games and they were amazing.
