Latest Xbox 360 system update is live, now supports 2TB hard drives

Xbox 360 now supports 2TB hard drives via the latest system update for the console.

Support for the drives was announced earlier this month and has been available for preview members.

“In addition we will also no longer reserve space in advance on your hard drive,” said the firm. “If you are using 16GB of hard drive space for games – we will only take 16GB of space. And just like today – you will be able to use two external drives at a time.”

Here’s some of the other features included with the update per Major Nelson:

Larger external USB hard drives – Plug in any external USB hard drive up to 2 TB to store your Xbox 360 downloads, profile, saved games, and other data.

Purchase history – To view your recent purchases, go to Settings > Account >Purchase History.

Password reset – You can now reset your password by selecting Forgot your password? at sign-in.

Network statistics – View download speed, upload speed, and signal strength, go to Settings> System > Network Settings. Select your network, and then choose Network Statistics.

See your money – Your Microsoft account balance now appears in the top-right corner of the Xbox Dashboard. To turn it off, go to Settings > Profile > Account Security.

I don't see how you could need 2tB unless you are an achievement hunter playing loads of games lol

Nice to see they are still bringing out big things to 360 but in fairness they could have brought it out early.

Ah thats what the update yesterday was for, glad to see Microsoft still updates Xbox 360. Hopefully they won't forget about us 360 users.

antibiotic About 7 years to late, why they are only just bringing these additions to the xbox 360 now I will never know!? Let's be honest xbox 360/PS3 is a dying console and the fact next gen consoles are pretty cheap now is only another nail in the last gens coffin.. Iv had an xbox one and 2 ps4s all cost less than 350 pounds with top games at time of purchase (xb1 fifa 14, ghosts) (1st ps4 ghosts, fifa 14) (2nd ps4 gta5, AW, minecraft, Fifa15).. This will only really benefit JTAGS and people who are still on an original account, the JTAGS because you can have a native extusb instead of some restricted bullshit which will make the system more efficient and it will be easier to transfer stuff etc etc also those who have never been banned 7-8 years worth of content

Yeah but theres a ton of people still on 360 so how are they late? I think this updates good for the 360 and nice to see they havent forgotten about the 360.

Did this yesterday and as soon as I did it I saw how much money I had at the top right and I though that was pretty cool they did that. Good update for the 360.
