Steam breaks concurrent users record yet again

Steam had a good weekend. The concurrent user record that was set only in January, which saw 8.4 million using the platform at the same time, has already been smashed. On Sunday afternoon, Steam peaked at a massive 9.06 million concurrent users.

The ten most popular games at the time is a list mostly filled with stalwarts like Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, but Colossal Order’s new city-builder, Cities: Skylines, also made it onto the list.

Here’s what most people have been playing:

Dota 2
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
Team Fortress 2
Civilization V
Payday 2
Cities: Skylines
Garry’s Mod
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Football Manager 2015
Arma 3

There're kids like this on every online gaming platform. It isn't really a valid part of the console vs. PC debate.

First of all I'd like to say I've been a PC gamer for a pretty long time. People like you are the reason PC gamers as a whole have a bad reputation. This is the exact reason I unsubscribed from /r/pcmasterrace. It's literally a toxic ass group that goes around harassing people over their preferred platform. Even when PCs aren't mentioned at all you can bet some dickhead will show spouting this stupid shit. The whole PC master race thing started out as a joke years ago and people like you have just taken it too far.

I've been playing on a PC for several months now, and I've never had someone tell me they had sex with my mother.


I think you need to re-read what I said. I specifically said kids on console.
