Modern Warfare 2 Remaster petition reaches 130,000 signatures

Revolution? Innovation? Ambient cubemaps? New, transformative kinds of games burned onto our retinas from our new-generation consoles? Not so much... It turns out that’s not what everyone wants, if over 130,000 people are to believed. A petition is currently live on change.org for a remastered version of 2009’s Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The petition states that Modern Warfare 2 on last-gen consoles has been overrun with hackers and deserves a remaster to fix the problems. It’s looking for 150,000 signatures before sending a letter on to Activision.

With over 15,000 signatures gained since last night, it might not be too long before the petition reaches its goal. With all the recent remasters on PS4 and Xbox One, is something like Modern Warfare 2 prime material for a lick of paint? Or is this a franchise that should be looking forward instead of back? And why the hell isn't there a proper petition for the original (and far superior) Modern Warfare instead?

I personally think MW2 is the best COD around and the fact that the hackers ruined the game makes it no fun to play anymore, i would love to see a remaster for xbox one and ps4

They have now reached over 200,000 but it doesn't matter how many petitions they get because they could just say no to remaking modern warfare 2.

Why petition for a remake of a game if you want them to butcher it to your liking?
Everything, good and bad, made MW2 what it is. You can complain about Grenade launchers and snipers all you want, but at some point everyone has used and taken advantage of both. You can't remake a game an take things out to make people happen. Straight across remake or none.



Perfectly said. The game was simply perfect because of all the freedom. If you want to use akimbo weapons, you can. If you want to quick scope, you can. If you want to camp, you can. It kept the game from feeling old and repetitive. Let's just hope that if they bring it back they won't butcher it and make it bad

I think they're already working on a collection. Maybe this will light a fire under them. Maybe put more effort into pushing it out.

Modern warfare is the best cod! Even with all the grenade launchers and snipers and everything. no doubts!

Straight up remaster with security system updated and maybe a graphical upgrade as well.
