Sledgehammer looking at “opportunities” to recreate classic maps

4.6
According to co-founder Michael Condrey, players of the latest Havoc DLC are asking how Exo abilities and verticality can be added to classic franchise maps.

“One new piece of feedback we have heard in Havoc is the fan desire to see some classic maps make their way to Advanced Warfare, and we’re taking a look at some opportunities to really highlight the vertical gameplay mechanics in some reimagined franchise favorites moving forward, like we did with Atlas Gorge,” said Condrey.

“Verticality is a key component of the new movement set in Advanced Warfare, and we’ve doubled down on that for Havoc,” he added. “We’re about to drop some news on how we’re pushing even further into that space in the coming DLC offerings, so stay tuned for more soon.”

The Havoc DLC for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has just been released on PS4 and PC, after a period of exclusivity on Xbox One.

So far, players are digging the changing map dynamic of Drift and the weird-out vibes of Sideshow, according to Condrey.

“Feedback has been well received, and some of the new ways to play in the Havoc maps have really resonated with fans.

“The avalanche dynamic event in Drift is a fan favorite, as is the more sinister flavor of Sideshow with its creepy clowns and wide open sight lines. The AE4 is also hit, bringing the benefits of a directed energy weapon to the AR class for the first time.”

Yea I dont really like AW anymore. I really would love a CoD 4 or MW2 remake.

I hate AW. I can't wait for the next CoD so I can get back at it :)

RS4 Still think Activition should do what Halo did and put all games, guns and maps into one!

Like using an MSR on Cod 4 map Shipment.

I agree they are making to many cods and asking for to many maps to come back into the new ones.

Now there's 3 devs in the rotation, I think they should release CoD on a 2 year schedule. That way, each CoD will have 4 years being developed before release, and there could be many more maps naturally, and bigger DLC contents spanned across 2 years to spice it up when it gets boring again. I just want to see a classic CoD remade, hopefully the Modern Warfare series.

@stonerzard stay off the drugs and go back to school, cod every 2 years with 3 devs would mean each dev would have 6 years not 4 years!

In other words sledgehammer is lazy and wants to remaster maps so they dont have to work as hard. If i wanted old maps i would play the old games.

I do like the whole making a CoD collection. But if the majority of people don't like a CoD, such as Advanced Warfare is being hated, do you think it will make it 2 years? People are already leaving advanced warfare and it's only 3-4 months in.

I would love to see a Modern Warfare remake. 100% needed tbh, it's horrible having a PS4 and not being able to play all the old Call of Dutys! I wouldn't mind seeing a few old maps, but I hope they put it up to a fan vote tbh. Would be much better to have the community have the say for the map, or even voting to not have a remake. Either way, I say let the community as a whole have their say, after all they are the ones that are buying the dlc!

I don't really want to see them bring back any maps. I would rather wait till next year for a better cod. I'd like to see Highrise and Terminal make a return.

would be amazing, really want rust back from mw2

I think it would be cool to get some classic maps in Advanced warfare but as long as they add ones that haven't been remade before.
